A secluded mountain lodge. The perfect getaway. So remote no one will ever find you. The promise of a luxury vacation at a secluded wilderness spa has brought together eight lucky guests. But nothing is what they were led to believe. As a fierce storm barrels down and all contact with the outside is cut off, the guests fear that itโs not a getaway. Itโs a trap. Each one has a secret. Each one has something to hide. And now, as darkness closes in, they all have something to fearโincluding one another. Alerted to the vanished party of strangers, homicide cop Mason Deniaud and search and rescue expert Callie Sutton must brave the brutal elements of the mountains to find them. But even Mason and Callie have no idea how precious time is. Because the clock is ticking, and one by one, the guests of Forest Shadow Lodge are being hunted. For them, surviving becomes part of a diabolical game. Review: Good book - I really like this author and this book was good but I wouldn't say one of her best. There were some good twists and turns and you really don't know the mystery until the very end. But it was too long imo; it just went on unnecessarily. The author does do great research and knows her stuff and I have read a few of her other books. Review: Ehh - While it had great potential, I did not love how it switched between around ten different perspectives and the twist was pretty dumb.

Great thrilling read!
Bought this book without knowing anything about it because I was away from home and finished all the books I had brought along. I picked this because it was the genre I usually like (psychological thriller). Loved this book! Setting is an abandoned lodge where various characters are brought together under the guise of getting contracts for their businesses. Things are very off when they first arrive and people start being murdered. Lots of references made to Agatha Christie. Definitely recommend this book.

Absolutely AMAZING!
I love a well researched book; one that allows you to learn something new. A book that goes beyond a great plot line and well developed characters. This book was exactly that. Not only was it incredibly well written and fast paced I learned so much about search and rescue operations and what it is like to live in a remote area with extreme weather. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Decent mystery with lots of twists and turns.
Good, easy read with lots of twists and surprises. I liked Callie and Mason, who were investigating what happened. The ending went on too long and got too convoluted. There were a lot of characters to keep track of. I wish I'd kept a list at the start that would help me keep them straight, but I did manage fine by not that far into the book.
