Excellent kit if you need USBc connectors of either polarity
These work great for shorting USBc cords etc. Soldering them is easy, and with a little shrink tubing I got what looks like a professionally made cable end. Good product!

Worked great for my application
Used these USB connectors to make a custom cable to externally power a USB dongle DAC (Onix XL1) Worked extremely well! Not sure if you can actually get USB 3.x spec with only four leads presented.

I use these to convert older USB devices to USB-C
USB-C everywhere. This is a very easy adapter to work with for small projects. Note this will NOT work with power delivery.

MUST install resistor or WILL NOT charge with any smart chargers. THIS SHOULD BE CLEARLY INDICATED
You will NEED to add 5.1kohm resistor to each side to pulldown the current or else this wont charge unless you're using a dumb USB-A outlet. price is okay, holding it while you solder isn't too difficult with a 3rd hand, but soldering SMD is a pain without the right tools. you CAN use a full sized resistor but it makes it bulky. would rate 5 stars if this was made clear in the listing.

Worked well for my project
After soldering some pins to the four pads and connecting them to my breadboard, the USB-A connection to the computer worked flawlessly with my project. However, when I tried using a USB-C to USB-C connection, power was supplied, but no communication occurred. Based on suggestions from Spica’s review, I soldered a connector wire from the underside pad to my breadboard, added a 5.1K resistor on the breadboard, and it worked perfectly. Given the difficulty of soldering the resistor directly onto the unit due to the limited space, I plan to keep it simple by extending the pad with a connector wire to the PCB pins and placing the resistor to ground on the final PCB board itself.
