Essentials of Practice-Based Coaching: Supporting Effective Practices in Early Childhood

Not what I expected. I returned it. Plus, the training had it's on materials that they handed out. I did not really need the book.

My team has been using practice-based coaching for a long time, and we still found immense value in this book. We read it as a book study this summer, reading chapter by chapter and using a collective notecatcher to track what we already do well, what wonderings we have, and ideas to improve our practice. We were able to take the ideas to improve our practice and work on embedding them into coaching cycles. I particularly enjoyed how the book includes parallel structures for teachers and coaches, like having a coach need assessment to build goals for growth, just like we do with teachers. Great resource for new and experienced coaches!
