This latest edition has been substantially updated and is even better than the last. We use this as a text book on our ocean sail-training expeditions. One major difference is that the author, Chris Tibbs, has twice skippered around the world race boats, has dozens of Atlantic crossings under his belt, has a masters degree in meteorology and trained at the British MetService and worked as a forecaster. I can't recommend this book highly enough. Actually, all the RYA training books, of which this is one, are absolutely tops.
