Great addition to exterior security
Don't look for a wide beam spread. I used two in a globe enclosure because only one was making a hot spot. So with two I have them outputting 50% each and that solved the hot spots. The IR also shows beautifully on camera even when the visible light is off.

They are connected most of the time
I have 30 of these - mostly the older model. I have one of the latest Nighthawk routers centrally located in a three floor house. There is a lot connected to it but not a lot of traffic. I started out with a few bulbs and it grew from there. Most of the time most of them stay connected but with 30 bulbs it seems like one or two are often offline and need to be powered off or even reset. To reset, turn on and off 5 times and connect like a new bulb. I've had a few of them just die over a span of a few years. I only have them in table lamps or floor lamps or indirect lighting cans that can be placed behind TVs, etc. With many of my lamps taking two bulbs, it doesn't take long to seem like you have a lot. I don't put these in light fixtures on the ceiling. The older ones were too heavy for a lot of light fixtures that were designed for a lightbulb weighing next to nothing. This one seems to be a little smaller than the older ones and is definitely much lighter. I like that you can walk into a room maybe with your hands full and ask Alexa to turn on the Kitchen lights (or whatever room name). I like that if you hear a bump in the night. You can just say 'Alexa, turn on the lights' and all the lights in the house come on. I like that you can control them from anywhere you have your phone. I like that you can decorate your house with light. There are some pre-canned themes and even animated themes like Halloween. Wifi (and the internet) have their limitations. So by extension, so do these bulbs. Overall, I like them but they do require some attention from time to time. Of everything that is connected: TVs, cameras, laptops, etc. - these seem to have the least reliable connection. Possibly because the lights are often behind glass or in metal cans or both. If you read your wireless router instructions - it says don't place near glass or metal barrier - because the signal has a tough time getting through those things.

Works okay, but not really a smart bulb due to connectivity issues
I purchased this lamp because it had the infrared light feature so I could use it in my baby's room with the baby video monitor. It works well for that purpose, I guess, but it took me a week to figure out how to work around it constantly losing connection. It drops connectivity at least once/day, and pretty much every time I'd go into the app it was offline. Because of that, all the "smart" features don't work - I can't set a schedule, can't adjust it without going into the room and power cycling it, can't use all the scenes and other stuff it's supposed to offer. The only thing I can do with it is set the light settings that don't change. Thankfully that includes the infrared if I'm okay with it constantly on, but it's only that and the overall light. Without the connection, that's all I can do. I was hoping to also use this to help my security camera when we went away and set up an on/off schedule, but it isn't going to work for that unfortunately, and I can't control it from a smart plug either because when it doesn't have power the infrared doesn't work.It still works for my primary purpose as a baby camera assistant, but if you want a smart bulb maybe look elsewhere.
