I started playing rhythm guitar in a metal band and I wanted to sound bigger. As a hobbyist recording engineer I generally do this with bands by having them double, triple, and even quadruple track in some cases. I figured some pedal out there could do it so I started looking through reviews and was disappointed to find most automatic double trackers were being used for lighter/less distorted music- or at least in reviews. I think I saw one heavy guitar using the mimiq and I figured I should give it a shot.I didn't have my guitar amps at home, so I used amplitube and ran a single guitar into the pedal and each out into a different channel with slightly different amp settings. I was pretty impressed with the results. You can certainly get away with using the mimiq hard panned to make a great sounding demo. You could probably do it for a full recording, but few self respecting producers would let that occur.Finally got it set up to use live- the point off is that this thing works kind of like an ABY pedal but it's lacking a ground lift switch, so there was a much bigger hum than should be around. I'm hoping to rectify that this week by running the mimiq into a radial aby with a ground lift (or vice versa) and then on to the heads. Beyond that, it sounds like another guitar player was playing exactly what I was and really helped to fill things out. If you're running a 2 amp setup, you should definitely give it a spin.Overall, disappointed in the grounding issue.hum, but SUPER stoked on how it sounds- especially at high gain on the amplifier side.

This is an indispensable tool for me now. Set "Effect" to max and "Dry" to zero. Highly recommend using it in stereo. Has made recording guitar doubles painless and even fun. Looking forward to using this live, with a rig set on either side of the stage (for stereo imaging separation).GearNuts took care of me. There was a shipping issue with the order. While ok in mono, stereo is unbelievable. Sounded like 3 guitars, duh. Yeah, that's what it's supposed to do, I know. But it does it well and while lugging an extra amp around sucks, it's well worth it. I normally use tube amps but picked up a small SS for the stereo effect. Cool!

This is, without exception, the best sounding guitar pedal I have ever used. It goes an enormous way to fattening up a sound without sounding processed. Of course you can dial it in so it sounds over the top, but if you back it off a little it sounds awesome. From Randy Rhoads to David Gilmour to SRV this thing rocks the house. Single coils or humbuckers... it makes no difference. It makes them all sound great. I wish I would have had this pedal when I was learning to play 35 years ago. When you sound this good, it's easy to practice.

Perfect delivery. Fast too

i have mixed feelings. it significantly changes my tone. it's more muted, less full or alive. however the effect is so good with two amps that I still use it. I wish it didn't affect my tone negatively, but it is a really nice effect.
