Unintiuitive to use but accurate and effective
I bought this because I didn't have a torque wrench that was suitable for doing the cylinder heads in my subaru engine. It did the trick perfectly and I'm overall very pleased.I tested the accuracy with 2 trusted torque wrenches, one of which is recently calibrated and found it to be accurate and repeatable, which was obviously the main concern with buying relatively inexpensive torque tools. It's easy to test a torque wrench of course and I'd definitely encourage people to do so rather than just trusting. The manual to no surprise is poorly translated and so a bit of experimentation was required to actually make the thing work. It has various modes but I've only used the "set a torque then beep when you get there", which works very well with a nice progressive variable beep speed to solid tone. The outer casing is cheap and nasty and the control button sticker fell off, but that's all basically packaging, the actual meter works fine and seems as durable as it has to be to sustain the torques. Being able to use your own bar makes a big difference especially at higher torques- if you're using a lot of muscle, accuracy and control is usually lost, making it easy makes the job go betterSome people comment on it being expensive... A digital torque wrench in these higher ranges is much more expensive, and even a decent quality clicky wrench is usually more expensive (the teng one is good value btw). Not perfect but would buy again

Instructions & Contents
Batteries are not included although it says they are on the contents list within the instructions. (Quantity only, but not which ones), nor do the instructions tell you where to insert them.A small crosshead screwdriver is provided and as a practical person you can establish that this is to be used to remove 2 screws to enable youto see where they go and the quantity and size you need, which is 2 AAA.Instructions for use not very clear, therefore trial & error rules apply. There is no "Certificate of Conformity" as stated in the contents list. You need good eyesight to select which scale you want to use (ft.lbs/Nts ect), but once set the figure you set is easier to read. The price is comparable with similar models, but in my view overpriced. A few random tests proved it to be accurate, and the buzzer is useful especially when working in confined areas and the backlight would be useful for working outside at night.
