Alright
Had this for about a month now. It's larger than expected, but certainly as described. About a third cheaper than my first choice, too.I use it for soups and such, once or twice a week. It comes with a 20-year guarantee, if I remember correctly. But for the peel-off see-through sticker on it, you wouldn't know it comes with a guarantee, which is odd.It looks and feels like a regular stockpot, large and heavy, with a reinforced base. The handles and the knob heat up on the stove. Don't sprinkle any salt in it until the water's already boiling, or you'll have ugly white spots on the inside. This isn't a low-maintenance pot. It cleans up nicely, and you can always freshen up the metal when it gets dull with lemon juice or vinegar water. It's made for wood and nylon tools only, and you should never leave them inside. Because the base is made of a different type of substance, with different physical properties, you should never leave it to boil dry,Otherwise, it's a decent stock pot.

Shane about the label
This arrived quickly and was well packaged. This is a really well made, sturdy stock pot. It is exactly the right size for my purpose and I love the polished stainless steel surface ... a really attractive stockpot. I think it such a shame that it arrives with an unnecessary, oversized plastic coated label on it's surface that is impossible to peel off. After soaking for several hours the label was still really difficult to remove (the photo shows it after soaking in water for several hours). The plastic coating on the label prevents water from soaking into the label and the plastic is so well welded to the label it is difficult to peel off separately. It has taken ages to remove this label and there is still a faint dullness where the sticker has been remaining on the surface, which I am hoping will disappear in time. Why would a manufacturer go to the trouble of making such a perfect product and then ruining it with a label?

A good purchase UPDATE - disappointing
EDIT - so 6 months later, the "stainless steel" stock pot is rusting. We have a whole suite of Stanless Steel pans that we bought from John Lewis many years ago and these have no such problems so I know it isn't our dishwasher, cooker or other external variable. I'll see if I can send this back for a refund.I am very pleased with this stock pot. It is always a gamble buying a product off the internet without getting the opportunity to handle it and really get an idea of what it is all about. I am very happy with this stock pot which is getting some good use. It has been through the dishwasher many times already and is holding up well as you would expect from a stainless steel pot. It is quite heavy and feels like it will last many years. I like things that are well put together and will last, so I am hoping this pot and I will have many years of happy cooking together! The lid's handle is incorporated in to the lid itself, they are not separately screwed together. There are pros and cons to this. The last pot I had had a lid with a screwed-on knob which was mostly plastic and eventually failed. I managed to screw on a wooden knob but it looks a bit home-made now. Having the knob as part of the lid itself should mean that the same failure is not an issue for this one, however, whilst cooking the knob will get hot-ish. It's a drawback that I am happy to accept as I'd rather have the lid last longer and use a tea towel to take the lid off than have the lid fail and render the pot less than perfect! Anyway, enough about lids and knobs. Overall, I rather like this stock pot and so far it has been superb and I hope we have it for many years to come.

Don't put salt to cold water, wait until the water will start boiling
Hi, do not listen to people whose said that pot are no good, I use my around 4 month, haven't got any problems with it. When you cooking don't put salt to cold water, wait until the water startboiling, read the manual book about that, also clean manually and dry out with cloth and will last you forever, just bought one more for extra cooking on Xmas time

Great at first but then really disappointing
Really disappointed. After reading all the great reviews for this stockpot I thought I'd found the one! Unfortunately not. After using it a few times to cook soup in I noticed that the bottom layer of food had started to burn at the bottom of the pan. At first this wasn't too bad and could be soaked off but then a burnt taste started to permeate the cooking, so much so that the other day I made a stew and it was inedible because there was so much burnt stuff at the bottom of the pan. If you're making anything other than very liquidy soup in this I really wouldn't recommend it.

Terrific big pot
This is a great thing to have if you want a really nice big pot for making chilli, soup, stews, curries - you could probably make enough for 20 people in this. I use it in a smallish shared accommodation unit for six people and two staff. Look out, though. because, as with all good big pots, the lid fits well, and when you take it off you're going to release a lot of steam and heat. It's well-made, and used carefully it should last for years.

I want a refund
Used the pot once to cook a soup. After I washed and rinsed it with a sponge I was absolutely devastated. The bottom of the pot is completely ruined, is full of little spots/holes, I have never seen anything like this before. I would like to get a refund.
