Knockoff shoes - buyer beware!
The soles of these shoes fell out the first day I wore them. They aren’t even attached! These are not real Toms. They came from China after a long waiting period in a plastic bag. I paid WAY too much for knockoff shoes! Now to return them is a pain. You don’t get your money back until they receive the product and the seller has to approve the return!?!? Buyers Beware!

These CANNOT be real TOMS!!!
I would give them less than one star if I could!! This picture shows how my shoes arrived. Not in a box, but crushed. This shoe is not like ALL my previous TOMS shoes!!! They are terribly made. They have absolutely NO arch. The bed liner in not attached to the shoe. The heel is much lower. The shoe fabric is not quality AT ALL. THE “lining” is less than what mesh would be. I could not be more disappointed and I have purchased at least 6 other pairs of TOMS. In addition I placed the order on Oct 9 and did not receive the shoes until Nov 16. If this is a new permanent supplier for TOMS then I will never order another pair.

TOMS vs. BOBS
I have never owned TOMS or BOBS in my life, but I thought both shoes were adorable and their missions noble, so I decided to buy both shoes and do a side by side comparison. (I also included side by side photos of the unboxing of each shoe in the hopes that it might be helpful to someone else!)First up, TOMS (they were $34.76 when purchased). They are completely authentic TOMS when purchased from the TOMS retailer (as opposed to a third party company) so no need to worry. They are made out of textile (cloth and woven fabrics) and have a synthetic sole. They also have a canvas top with an elastic bit for an easy slip on design and comfortable fit. The shoes are very lightweight and come in an awesome assortment of vibrant colors with adorable interior fabric prints (although I personally chose black again which had a very cute cream and black wild life pattern on the inside). The insole is made out of suede and feels very comfortable but not as supportive as I was hoping for. An additionally bonus is that with every pair of TOMS purchased, an additional pair is donated to a child in need which is super rad. I do like these shoes but part of me feels like you are paying for the name. But they are still a great price and when you think of the good they are doing by donating a second pair of shoes it's totally worth it.Next up, BOBS by Sketchers (they were on sale for $28.88 marked down from $42.00 when purchased). They are made out of a canvas fabric and have rubber sole. They slide on easily and comfortably because of the stretchy goring wedge at the top of the shoe. The footbed is made out of memory foam and they have a shock absorbing low profile midsole which is great for those who find themselves on their feet longer. In addition they have an "arch pillow" that provides exceptional support. They also come in a beautiful assortment of colors, both vibrant, natural and pastel which I love! Even the interior of these shoes is adorable (for the comparison I opted for black which have the cutest black and grey cheetah pattern!). The bonus of buying BOBS is that they are currently running a promotion in which 25¢ from each purchase will be donated to the Petco Foundation to help save the lives of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. I am extremely pleased with these shoes so far!Although I really do like and recommend both shoes, I'd have to say that I personally like the BOBS more. In spite of the fact that both shoes look nearly identical, I do tend to side with the all black look that the BOBS have (although I recently found out that you can purchase that style in TOMS too! 😊). I also enjoy the fact that you have the option of choosing a wide fit (which I usually wear) in BOBS while TOMS unfortunately does not offer a wide option, they simply recommend buying a size up if you have wider feet. In addition, I really liked the memory foam footbed and the "arch pillow" in the BOBS because I'm on my feet all day chasing miniature humans and if I don't have proper support, my knees and hips will yell at me 😂. I still recommend both products but again, I did like personally liked the BOBS more.

How do they smell so FAST
I wore these on an eight day trip to Mexico City. I had worn them only once prior to the trip to make sure they wouldn't give me blister. The fit was just right. It was the dry season, so the shoes never got wet or rained upon. It was winter, so the weather never really got above 75 degrees. So no excessive sweating per se, no moisture from the environment. Yet these shoes managed to smell so horrible at the end of the trip that I considered leaving them in the trash at my AirBnB. These are my first pair of Tom's and they were passable other than the stench. I know sweat is human and please believe me when I say I am not a squeamish person - I use natural deodorant for gosh sakes, I feel that smelling to a certain extent is acceptable. This was... beyond that extent. I packed them in my carryon to save my seatmates on the plane. So I guess consider that before purchase?

NO REAL TOMS
I have real Tom's and they are a size 9 (my foot size) they also don't say made in China on the inside shoe. The ones I got here say made in China in the shoe and are definitely not a size 9 as I can barely get my foot in them. Will be returning on THEIR dine or will call the bank to fight the charge for bogus TOMS!

I got real TOMS
I feel awful for those that received knockoffs. I got real black on black TOMs for $30! I feel lucky! I have very wide peasant feet ( think short even length toes with a wide forefoot and skinny heel) that go between a 6.5 and 7. I also have a high arch and a ridiculously high instep(top of the foot) from a decade of pointe work in ballet. Some shoes just don’t work for my foot. These are borderline almost unwearable. I love them, they could be comfortable but the toe box squishes my toes to the point of making them go numb after 30 minutes. That’s no good. I have stuffed them to stretch them and the left shoe is perfect now. But my right foot is more muscular and defined than the left and it still has some stretching to do. The other issue I have is that this shoe just by design has a very slippery bottom. I ordered a size 7 to try and account for the narrower width and it will work once I get it more broken in but I could have gone with a 6.5 but I worry that it would have been even more squishy in the toe area. The very first time you wear them you will hate it. Wide foot or not. It’s scratchy and uncomfortable. I am not put off by TOMS just yet. I love the company mission and once broken in, the comfort and style of them. But I do wish they considered making them for wider feet so the dance of them shoe break in wasn’t so extravagant. I’m almost reminded of breaking in pointe shoes. A dancers bane.

Not worth it
I had another brand’s version of Toms that lasted about two years of hard wear and tear. My sister raves about her Toms so when my shoes gave up, I ordered these Toms. What a let down. They run super small. I gave up trying to get my feet in them the first few times I tried. When they finally fit, they were so uncomfortable that I wore them like flip-flops with my heels out for a week. I finally forced myself to wear them as intended and they shortly fit “fine” but not comfy like my old brand.

and they felt like they were cutting into my feet
I’ve never owned Toms before. When I first purchased them, I really regretted it - they were so tight that I had a fight to get them on, and they felt like they were cutting into my feet. I nearly returned them.A quick google, however, suggested keeping them on for an hour. And in that space of an hour, a miracle occurred - they fit beautifully. Very, very comfortable - I had two days walking around London all day in them, non-stop. No rubbing, no pain.Brilliant.

Stick with them, they're worth it.
Toms shoes always seem to small at first, but they do stretch to fit your foot - you just need to persevere. When I first put them on, my toes were squashed, then my feet went numb, then my feet fell off, then I had them surgically re-attached, then I re-learnt how to walk again. As soon as I was able to walk unaided I put the Tom's back on and walked around in them for a few days. Then they fitted perfectly! Like magic. In all seriousness, they should feel a little tight but not enough to be painful. I usually take a size 6 and the 6 fits just fine after a few hours. Brilliant shoes, I have a few pairs now and even use one pair as slippers around the house, they're that comfy.

Do not order this shoe. The sizes are compleately wrong and the fabric is too rough.
Very poor quality service. I ordered a size 4.5 even if I am size 4 and when I got the shoe they been far too small and narrow. I requested to return them, but the seller is asking me to pay the postage. I found it very unfair as I consider it is not my fault that the seller advertise wrong sizes. Also the quality of the shoe it is not great. Very rough comparing with the other ones that I bought before from a different seller. Not recommanded.

Stretchy magic.
These shoes have witchcraft-like properties. I bought a 5, having been a 5 for my entire life and found I couldn't get them on my feet without a lot of struggling, which flummoxed the dog as I got ready for a walk. They turned my feet numb once I got them on - so very, very tight.I googled frantically, and was basically told to grin and bear it. I grimaced and bore it.3 hours later, I have shoes which slip on and fit my feet perfectly. They're SO comfy. Either they contained some shrinking powder and my feet are now tiny, or they've stretched to mould to my feet. Amazing. The only negatives are the initial pain, and the very strong smell of the dye, which fades too. And apparently socks are definitely needed, or they eventually smell horrible. Nice.

Great, but order a size up
Great shoes, good quality and look just like the picture. Only too small. I ordered a size 4 which I normally do have but could not even get my foot in the shoe. Will be returning these. Not sure how these are too small as I have a pair of size 4 Tom's already and they fit loosely...Update: Have ordered a size 5. They are still tight at the middle of the foot, but these do fit. Looking forward to wearing these as they look amazing, good quality and look smart.
