Great for blade sharpening.
Edit/update: I've been doing some whetstone sharpening and found that the Japanese grit scale (JIS) and this sandpaper are way off from each other. The 7000 grit sandpaper is equivalent to the naniwa 12k super stone in scratch pattern and the 5000 grit paper is finer that the naniwa 8k super stone. After the 7000 paper the white, green and blue strop compounds are too course, the 0.10 micron CBN compound is the only thing that doesn't scratch up the finish. The 3000, 5000 and 7000 are the best product I've found for sandpaper sharpening of knives, axes etc. I'm even including 3M lapping film in this, I recently tried the 1 micron and .3 micron lapping films (equivalent to 14000 and 80000 grit, supposedly) and the 7000 grit paper in this pack leaves a finer scratch pattern than even the .3 micron film. I've also tried the 6000 edge pro lapping film (a supposed 10000 to 14000 grit equivalent) and this is only slightly better in fine scratch patterns but is much more delicate and is used up much faster, plus even a slight imperfection in the film can leave deep scratches, something that hasn't come up with the German sandpaper. I've sharpened high hardness steels (60-63 HRC) like m390, XHP, s35vn and s30v with no issues and have had excellent results. The lower grits, 1500, 2000, 2500, are very good, equal to 3m of similar grits however these German ones don't last as long as the 3m. I can do 5-6 blades on 3M and maybe 3-4 blades on these. So if these grits are more important maybe try 3m instead.Overall the finer grits are outstanding for getting a fine polish, the paper backing is very high quality and durable and last a long time. Added some pics to try and show what the 7000 grit finish looks like on a blade edge, some cold steel tomahawks in 1055 steel and some popular blade steels on the folders, besides the ones listed above there's D2, 14c28n, ctsbd1N and 154cm.
