More magic
Elegant, amusing and utterly compelling. This is the third volume of Powell's masterful sequence, "A Dance To The Music of Time", and reveals Nick Jenkins, the autobiographical proxy for Powell himself starting to establish himself as a figure within the burgeoning literary scene of the early 1930s.Very little actually seems to happen but through his unique observation of a few set pieces Powell manages to portray the political and personal machinations permeating all levels of society. For once Widmerpool is all but absent, through his intervention in the final chapter is characteristically humorous, though once again he emerges with rather more stature tahn somehow seems his due, and the thirst for advancement is now a little more apparent.

Unfortunately this printing of the book was for the visually impaired (large type) and I believe that should have been made clear by the vendor.
