ASICSMen's Gel-Venture 8 Running Shoes

I wear a men's 8 in 4E width and walk about 50-70mi a week for exercise. I go through a pair of shoes in about 6-8 weeks and have gone through many pairs of shoes over the last year alone.I had the most comfort and success with a previous pair of Asics Gel Contend - they were a little slippery in more wet conditions though so I wanted something with a bit more aggressive tread.I'm extremely happy with the Gel Venture shoes. The tread has proven to be very durable. The shoe is very comfortable and lightweight, breathes well, and can provide a lot of support for those in need of a wider shoe. These are by far my favorite walking shoe!

I purchased these sneakers to wear on vacation to Portugal and all of it's steep, unforgiving streets and trails. Put them on right before leaving and by the time I got to the airport to depart I thought I had made a mistake as they felt tight and too small. Like most things in life, good things come to those who wait and by midway through day one I started to notice how amazingly these shoes were breaking in. They gripped well and gave great support. Give them a few days and trust me, they won't disappoint.

I wear moderate weight trail or running style shoes all day every day, whether I'm at work or biking or hiking or walking, it's all the same shoe for me. I've tried several different brands at this price point - Saucany, Addidas, New Balance... Most are comfortable enough and comparable. But the ASICS Venture 8 definitely lasts the longest. Particularly in the big toe area and the heel, my two problem areas with these light weight style shoes. The Venture's hold up so well I bought another pair for when they do eventually wear out!The gel feature is just marketing. They are as comfortable as the other brands.

Overall a comfortable shoe. Size fits true. Only complaint is there is a lot of padding towards the heal of the shoe that goes against the Achilles. The padding can create a loose feel if you slide your shoes on and off instead of tying them everytime. Easy fix, just tie your shoes when it starts to feel loose. The color of the shoe looks even better in person. Good show for the price.

Very light weight and comfortable. Too breathable for a cold weather shoe though. I walk no less than 20 miles a week on pavement. First pair lasted just over a year, which is unheard of. I recently got two more pairs for safe keeping. Ill keep buying these until they stop making them.

I got 1/2 larger than I would normally get in a running shoe. With that, they still felt snug at first BUT after wearing for a few hours, the sole seems to have compressed and my toes seem to have a lot more room. I'm glad I didn't return. Nice shoes so far.

These sneakers are not made for running. They do the trick for working out if you do not have issues with your feet. I'm alright with these sneakers. I don't like to spend a lot of money on sneakers.

I love these shoes. I have had many pair. I love the fit is ASICS. I walk 4 miles a day almost everyday. I don’t walk in the rain. These shoes fit as expected. Since my feet swell when I walk I buy a while size up .They wear well and are very light. They are very reasonably priced. I will keep buying them. You can’t go wrong with ASICS.

I like the style and fit, very comfortable.. Super for the exercise bike in particular.

I really liked this style of shoe. The material used was of the quality that I have come to expect from this brand. The heel loops are handy for getting your heel into the shoe.The gel soles provides the shock absorption to protect your heel from the impact of the pavement, making Asics one of the most comfortable runners you will ever own.The price of these were better than what the local retailers offered. Win win.For the first time though in all the Asics I have worn over the years, one shoe did not quite feel right due to the way the foam edge of the arch support sits on the bottom of my foot. The edge sits a bit higher or thicker than it does in the other shoe. After wearing these around the house for a bit I found my thicker socks amplified the situation. With the right socks the feeling was minor. I am sure over time from wear this will compress and be even less noticeable. For the first time I am reviewing shoes, so paying much attention may be a factor. Asics has consistently been comfortable and durable for me. I reccomend.

I bought these for my partner for Christmas, and after wearing it for half a month, the padding on the back of the shoe migrated downwards. I asked for a refund, and they refused because only refunds can be done through ASICS official website. So I contact the official website, and the refused to give me their 1 year warranty because they deemed the shoe to be 'worn improperly' and a 'wrong fit'.First of all.. My partner ONLY wears shoes made by ASICS. This is the ONLY pair that has ever gave him any issues. They fit perfect, he says they were extremely comfortable, until this happened. As you can see in the pictures, the threads on the shoes look barely worn. They are suppose to be NEW. The padding isn't suppose to just break down after half a month of use. I have begged ASICS to refund me, or take back the shoes, but they are refusing through and through. I honestly cannot trust this company anymore. I'm completely baffled by the customer service and their product.

the first thing you notice when you put these asics on is the sole which is hard. this isn't a bad thing but if you expect to have a soft heel, you'll be disappointed. the laces are thin and the tongue of the shoe is not as large as i'm used to but the fit is comfortable and i had no trouble doing a full workout in them the day they arrived. i wanted a rounded toe for comfort and the reinforcement strip on the toe looks like it'll aid in the shoe's longevity. time will tell but for now i'm pleased and would recommend.
