John LeMay has produced an amazingly detailed tome, one that gives the lowdown on the differences and similarities between the Japanese and Americanized versions of many kaiju eiga. LeMay’s book is an indispensable resource for anyone -- fan or professional -- who writes about Japanese monster movies.

I can say that I really love this format. Being a VHS loving, film version fiend myself, it’s very interesting to see the side by side comparisons. And this volume is perfect, only going up to 2000.
