Really cradles the kayaks nicely
Have made use of this all summer long. Not too hard to put together, although the instructions could have been a bit more clear. You will be fine if you just look at it and identify the right poles to go in the right places. Very sturdy once built- had a couple of big storms come through and I have these outside on my patio and it did not fall over or move. Really cradles the kayaks nicely. The foam pads, they could improve that, they pop off all the time when moving the kayaks on and off and the storm did get to blow those across the yard. Would have been nicer to come with foam or rubber rods with a slit that you wrap around the bar. May need to order those from Amazon. A swimming noodle might work as well.

Excellent way to store your yaks
Product is solid, and easy to assemble. Directions could be better, maybe label the parts? It's pretty intuitive if you have any mechanical skill. Follow the directions! Lay out all parts and do not tighten anything until you have the base assembled. It is free standing and does not set right up against the wall, you need to consider that when checking your storage space. I had been storing the kayaks overhead (which was a pain), this solves the problem. Very nice unit.

Great rack if you own multiple kayaks
Arrived directly from Malone, with the two boxes intact. The rack was packaged well in both boxes. Assembly was straight forward, taking about 45 minutes. I was methodical, leaving things loose until everything was assembled, which allowed me to make sure everything was aligned and level as I tightened things up. One suggestion, would be to either print out the directions in color, or have a tablet/computer handy. The black and white directions were visually hard to follow without color. I took out my iPad with the color directions, and it was a great help. I loaded up two of my three kayaks on the top two cradles, and it is rock solid. Adding my third one on the bottom should make it rock solid.

So far so good
Received on a Friday. Unpacked and realized all 4 bottom brackets were missing. Called the company in Maine, but they were already closed for the weekend, so I left a message and sent a follow up email to their technical team via their website. Received an email Monday evening stating the missing parts would be shipped to me. Received the missing brackets on Friday. When I finally sat down to put the unit together, I noticed one of the T braces was bent. I forged ahead anyway and was able to ratchet the bent side flat once it was attached. The whole thing went together pretty easily by myself. The rack supposedly fits 3 kayaks, I only need it for two, which is probably good because I have a 14' Pungo and a 14' Tarpon which are taking up quite a bit of space on their own. Seems pretty stable, but I have mine outside on the grass so we'll see how it stands over time. Despite the challenges, it seems like a good solid rack for the price.

Great Kayak Storage Rack
This is a well built and very sturdy kayak storage system for my three kayaks. It is well worth the money to buy the caster/wheels if you want to move it around your garage. I anticipate many years of use. One item of note to help you with the assembly - when attaching the vertical support to the base support (there are two of these) utilizing the support brackets - do not tighten your bolts until you have put all the bolts through the frame and and just started to thread the nuts - then tighten the nuts and the system will go together very easily.

Exactly what I needed.
This little rack is perfect. I have 3 kayaks on it and I can now finally walk around my boat shed without tripping over boats. The set-up was simple---just pay attention to be sure you're using the correct bolts for the various locations. It is very sturdy. The review on here showing a picture of a bent rack makes no sense to me. There is no way the tubes are flimsy enough to bend under the weight of kayaks. I am extremely satisfied and will recommend this to members of my paddling groups.

Rough and Tough and Fits where it should.
I love this product, I would give it a higher rating if I could.First off let me say in order to get full use from this product I highly recommend using it with the Malone Auto Rock Free Standing Caster Wheels. It just makes it so much easier to move around , in and out of the garage, loading the kayaks onto straight from the truck. This item is really built well, Hold our two BIG kayaks, one is a Lure Sea Ghost which is 74 pounds, the other is a Feel Free Moken 10 which is 60 pounds. We had to adjust the shelves to fit them both as they are wide , We took the bottom rails and moved them facing back, put the widest yak on the very bottom pads and use the rails facing back to hang our paddles and seats. There is nothing that I can think of that could improve this product. It gets lots of use and just makes life so much nicer.I would recommend this product to anyone .

Does not stand up to the elements
I purchased this in April a year ago. Called and emailed with these pictures. Rack is stored outside, and in total disclosure, I live on a brackish water lagoon. HOWEVER, the rack is up against the house and kayaks are rinsed and drained before storing on the rack ( one is 10 years old, used quite a bit) and still looks new.PROS: Sturdy, well built. I have a 3 man and 2 2 man kayaks. Rack is well balanced and priced well.CONS:1.Painted steel does not hold up well as shown. The elbows on the padded rack arms hold water at the bend by the foam and quickly rust, there is no drains.2. Bolts are not galvanized or stainless and rust quickly3. Rain comes in from exposed holes and sits in the black cross supports. adding to the rust issue.4. Customer Service did not stand behind the product, instead offered to ship me out a new bolt set, which took over a month to arrive.
