Bodum Schiuma Milk Frother-Off-White, 22.5

I liked this when it worked. But after 6 months it died.

As w/all hand held frothers, heat will make the critical difference. To all folks who have noted that they have been unable to achieve a decent head of froth: start with 1/4 c. milk (even non-fat) in a glass container that is at least 1 c. capacity; immerse only coiled part into milk; within approx. 30 secs., milk will have increased volume and look 'fluffy' (don't be tempted to go much longer or milk can go completely flat); put in microwave, uncovered, until milk rises and doubles (in my microwave, about 40 secs); and VOILA! hot, steamed milk that maintains a head. To make larger quantities, increase milk and corresponding container size.

This is the 3rd Bodum frothier I've had. It works better than any other ones I've tried. But this one may be broken unless you have changed the way it works. The stem wobbles back and forth. Still does a great job but I am afraid it won't last very long.

I used to have a Bodum Aerius tall milk frother. I loved it. It was simple, didn't use batteries, and made great froth. A friend of mine loved it so much I gave it to her when she left for overseas. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued.I received this frother as a free bonus on Amazon. As the other reviewers have indicted, it doesn't have a manual. I did figure out how to put the batteries in, but after a few attempts I am REALLY disappointed in the froth. It went down immidiately after I removed the frother -- I had "frothed" it for a good 2 minutes. That was more than enough for my old hand opperated frother. As I indicated, I received this frother for free. If I had paid for it, I would certainly return it.

Thank goodness I got this so-called frother for free when I purchased my new Cuisinart coffee maker or else I'd be upset. This thing is like a child's toy. It's messy and worse yet: ineffective. Do not, repeat, NOT waste your money on this thing.

Now u can cease spending $5 for a latte at Starbucks who seriously overcharges for frothy milk over burnt coffee.

Not mega powerful and like most these whisks it seems a bit fragile and chucking it in a draw with other gadgets is perhaps not the right idea but for coffee and other low level mixing tasks it’s very good. Warm milk for a latte works very well and so far battery life has been good, though the main gripe I would have is the on / off switch is a bit odd but possibly to prevent accidental switch on when chucked in a drawer!

I bought one of these products and it lasted less than a week and broke beyond repair from foaming milk. Unsure whether this was a dodgy item but I returned it and got another of the same model and 6 months later, it still works well.

I have had two of these delivered in 2 days. When I put the batteries in, one of the connectors that connects the engine to the battery disappeared into the engine casing meaning that there was no power. It happened with BOTH. I can't believe that this is a genuine Bodum product. A cheap fake perhaps? Very disappointing to get something which is such poor quality.

I treat myself to a milky coffee every day and always use one of these handheld frothing devices to whip up my milk. Usually these units last about 4/5 months before packing in, which is exactly what happened so I needed a new one quickly (my coffees just not the same if it doesn’t give me a frothy moustache). Delivered the following day from Amazon, this Boden whisker is by far the best one…all frothers are not created equal!It’s more powerful than the others, giving much more frothy milk. Would definitely buy again and recommend. Only downside, was the 10 mins it took me to get the end off the unit to insert the batteries…very tricky and sore on my thumbs, but got there in the end after a few sweary words!

Arrived with an extra bit of plastic in the battery compartment, this is actually a tap to keep the battery compartment closed which had already snapped off. Fitting the battery is a lottery, one is up one is down, but which one? Edit. Replaced by Amazon the following day
