My wife somehow snapped the timer knob off our Maytag dryer, Model: MGDC215EW. The dryer became useless, so I started researching options online.I saw a previous glowing review on Amazon from a guy who had the exact same Maytag model, so I ordered the replacement timer yesterday. It arrived today, took me about ten minutes to install, and now we're back in action. Life is good.I was originally prepared to spend $150 or more on a replacement timer, so I'm glad I found this one for MUCH less. I'm also glad I researched options before immediately calling an appliance repair person. Going that route would have likely cost me $200 or more.Anyway, the new Maytag dryer timer works great and it was super easy to install. Anyone can do it, and you don't need to call an appliance person to help you. Do it yourself and save money!Time will tell how well this new dryer timer works over time, but so far, I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

I broke off the plastic dial shaft in my old timer after years of turning the dial. Ordered from this company a new dryer timer, replaced it myself and vióla! Laundry is being dried again. Easy peasy.

Great product and arrived as stated, but we determined we did not need the part.

Just replaced this yesterday, and it almost started a fire today when I ran the dryer!!! I put in the right part number, got the part, installed it and could smell burning in the laundry room. Thank god we were home!

Had the timer in my hands in less than 24 hours. It was a perfect fit, easy to install and it was the solution to my dryer problem…. Intermittent drying. For me the PN I needed was WPW10185981 for Whirlpool Model WGD4800XQ1 Gas Dryer, and this was it, same 418-095-20-B5… numbers on both old and new timers.Install steps… Unplug the dryer, remove the timer Dial by pulling straight out, remove the 5 self-tapping screws from the Top-Back cover, remove the three smaller self-tapping screws that hold the timer in place, and finally remove and reconnect the five wire sets (one singular, and four modular). Reattach the timer, the top-back cover, replace the timer dial on the front of the dryer, and plug in the dryer. That’s it. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. Now the dryer works great.For intermittent gas drying issues, pretty much the only other cause would be the drying coil(s). A reasonably inexpensive part and while a bit more involved in changing out, not overly so.The included image is of the old part before R&R

Great product, good price. Much cheaper than an appliance repair visit. It took me 10 mins to remove the old timer and replace with this new one and I only needed a screwdriver. Itʻs a very easy install, just remove the silver back panel, and access is simple. Our dryer was not turning off, and the timer was not advancing. Maytag Dryer MGDC215EW2. One thing I learned from this repair was that even though the dryer turns off when you open the door, it is not actually off until you advance the timer to one of the "OFF" positions, and if not the timer is still active. I think this caused more wear on the timer over time, since we rarely advanced it to the "OFF" position. Just to be sure you have the right part, I would recommend pulling off the top back panel and looking at your existing timer and copying the black letters across the back to ensure they match with what you order.
