Eco-Stix Fatwood Fire Starter Kindling Firewood Sticks – Bulk Packaged 10 Lbs

These work great, no more paper, I just put 3-4 sticks under the logs and light them with a propane torch. I bought two boxes at the beginning of winter and have already gone through one box and a little bit of the other. I have never had them fail to get the logs going and I'm taking logs here not shredded or splintered kindling. Little expensive for what they are, it would be nice if they were a little cheaper though, but other than that no complaints. Note these use sap which can pop, (these rarely do) and throw embers out of your fireplace so make sure you have a good screen and keep it closed.

Short n sweet from someone who lives in the snowy mountains where in winter my woodstove is like the eternal flame. Even with the best dry firewood, it can sometimes be a PITA to get started... wet wood, green wood... fatwood makes it super quick, you only need 2-3 sticks (usually 2 do it), a little newspaper and you're hot! These are a really good value, especially on the bulk packages. They are not "perfect" in shape but who cares? You're gonna burn them. I have purchased this brand every year and never been disappointed with the quality, price and consistency of the product. Stay warm!

It only takes 2 to stick to start a nice fire. And one, lit in the middle, works perfectly in a charcoal chimney

We use these to get the fire started in our wood stove so you don’t need a bunch of tiny, thin kindling. We do still use kindling but don’t have to split it super thin for these to get the fire going. One stick is all we need!

The item arrived in a sturdy cardboard box and the pieces were 6-7" long. They light almost instantly and burn 5 minutes or more depending on the thickness of the stick. There is sometimes a black smoke emitted while burning due to the pitch in the wood, but that's normal. I used these almost daily as we heat our home almost exclusively with wood. One box lasted a month, which I thought was a bit quick. I am currently using a different fire starter, made of compressed sawdust/wax. I'll see which lasts longer vs price and will post a review on that. The fatwood works fine - just comparing value now.

When re-ordering, I mistakenly selected a copycat version. Big mistake. Dry sticks. Hard to light and stay lit. Not the oily fatwood I used before. ECOstix is the good one. The only one I will buy.

Good value for me who only build a capable of fires a week. Works well everything.

These "sticks" ignite quickly when I have a fire started in my fireplace.
