MFHBundeswehr Mountain Knapsack

This is a really cool backpack/rucksack, whatever you want to call it. I bought it because I wanted something a little larger than what I had (pretty much a standard sized jansport type of backpack), plus I wanted something vintage looking. I love the leather straps. They're real leather and thick. They take some breaking in but that's expected. The straps on the bag I got are a slightly different color than the one in the picture. Mine are a bit more olive vs brown, which is cool, but I'd rather have the brown, but all in all not a big deal. The straps on the side pockets are shorter, so they're stiffer and a bit more difficult to undo since they're shorter.The arm straps work fine, no issues. I think you can also remove the padding if you wanted to.All the material on the bag is sturdy: leather, canvas, vinyl material on the bottom and inside of the top flap.Inside there's plenty of room. I can fit a small electric pump that I always carry (I ride a motorcycle so I always carry it with me), my lunch, laptop, and a light hoodie with no issues. It was doable w/ my old backpack but definitely a tighter fit to get everything in. There's a little pocket inside the bag that is held by velcro straps, I use it for my laptop, wallet, phone, watch, etc. I wish there was a medium sized canvas pocket inside that I could use for everything except for the laptop, but the one inside pocket works. I use the 2 outer small pockets for my sunglasses with case (1 pocket) and the other for a bottle of advil, power cored for the pump, some allergy meds, etc. The bag gives you plenty of options where you can put your stuff.One more pocket inside would have made this bag perfect but as it is, it works fine and does everything I need it to do and has that awesome vintage look. This thing looks great when I'm on my cruiser. Definitely recommend

I have just received it and packed it up. it is nice size and i think i will really like it. i probably will personalize a few things but it is an awesome pack as it is. Very well made, nice thick leather and the 40 oz clean canteen fits snug in the side pocked you would need a flat lid to close the pocked. The only thing i did not like so much from the beginning are the shoulder pads but i can easily remedy that by making my own. I am a big guy and it fits me just so its not to small and it has quit some room inside.

Bought this bc it's the same pack Indiana Jones uses in Crystal Skull. I've taken it on a couple of photo shoots and hikes and is holding up very well. Great pack!

Purchased this 35l over 25l. My needs were for a budget Bushcraft pack. Leather straps are good quality. Stiff, but are breaking in. Bottom is covered in vinyl to protect against wet ground.4 stars instead of 5 because it is not very rigid. Still a very good pack. Would buy again.

Awesome bag! It is perfect for any and every need that one would need! Perfect for taking a weekend trip to the park or trekking into mountains or an ancient civilization in Peru.
