Attached Headboard to Handy Living Bed Frame
My queen size wood bed (22 years old now) originally had a headboard, footboard and side rails. Over time, the side rails began to bow and my back (had back surgery 3 years ago) felt it. So I took off the side rails, bottom and footboard and replaced them with a Handy Living Steel Queen Bed Frame: Handy Living 32F-QUEEN Queen Size Bed Frame And Box Spring But I had no way to attach my headboard to the new steel bed frame. They say you cannot attach a headboard to this frame and therefore, don't make a bracket. But I am very handy, especially for a girl (I am a structural engineer). I bought the Structures by Malouf® HIGHRISE Headboard Bracket: Structures by Malouf HIGHRISE Headboard/Footboard Bracket Set of 2 then drilled my own holes and bolted them together with 4 bolts I bought at a local depot store.Lastly, I bought theses #69 Down Hook Bolt-On brackets and bolted them to the Structures brackets with the bolts provided. See the picture I posted. There are two brackets (a left hand and right hand) in the package. Once I lined up the headboard and tightened everything up, the headboard clicked in and is VERY stable - more so than it was to the original wood side rails! I did it all myself so it was an easy install. Then I moved the whole bed to vacuum and everything slid as one unit. No wobbling or rotating at all. I can prop myself up against the headboard when I sit on the bed with no problem. I'm very pleased!

This review is for the #69 Down Hook Bolt-On to Hook-On ConversionWorks as described. This really helped with the horrible squeaking that was coming from the wood on the headboard that was connected to the frame. I have a King and the frame was moving the wood and it was squeaking a lot when I move around in the bed. I installed these and the squeaking has completely stopped because these connect to a different part of the headboard. It is adjustable to fit. My only issue was: When I was putting it on, I did not sit on the frame (or hold it down) for the proper adjustment. I caught this before I put the box springs and mattress back on. If you don't hold down the frame to simulate the weight of the box springs and mattress it will hold up the frame off the floor just a little and this could cause the bracket to slip down if the screws are not very tight. Just my experience, thought I would share it. I would recommend these.

Perfect solution for older headboards with slots for side frames ...
These brackets work exactly as advertised. Perfect solution for older headboards with slots for side frames but don't match new metal bedframes.I gave 4 stars because I was not able to pick up the bottom bed frame hole with the bracket. I guess the slots on my headboard are higher than normal because after I hooked the bracket into the headboard, the bracket wound up about 3 inches short to the bottom bedframe hole. I was able to bolt the bracket to the top hole of the bedframe. It seems like this is adequate, but I would prefer to have the brackets bolted to both holes of the bedframe. I did not see this problem mentioned in any of the other reviews, so maybe my headboard is just an oddball (Headboard is circa 1933).It would have been nice if the product description had a diagram of the bracket with pertinent measurements & dimensions so I would have been aware if this before I purchased.See photos.

Not perfect but did the trick...
Not totally perfect but it is working (not always perfect when you're trying to rig something). I have an older (13 years), solid-wood poster bed with wood slats on the side that hook into the headboard and footboard and hold the mattress in place. I purchased a memory foam mattress along with a 14" tall metal frame that raised the bed a tiny bit higher and is a hair wider than where the wood slats should fit back into the headboard and footboard. So...I could not use the wood slats on the side of the bed and needed something to rig the frame to hook into the slits of the footboard and headboard. This works pretty well. It's not an exact fit - the hooks could go further down into the footboard and headboard - but they work well enough. Does not wiggle around or anything; just every now and then you feel it move just a tad. Not sure what else I can do but for now this is doing the trick.

Worked Perfectly
We had an old mid-century headboard and a typical double/full bed frame that we needed to attach. This did the trick. I thought the bolts would be a little bit too short to work with, and that the nuts would slip when tightening, but I got it to work perfectly. Two recommendations: get another person to help you lift and position things, and also get yourself a 7/16" nut driver to tighten it up -- you don't even need to hold the bolt from the other side with a screwdriver; it just tightens nicely from the nut end.Pictured are the headboard we attached, the tools I used -- though all I really needed was the nut driver -- and views of the bracket from two angles. FYI, the wooden platform was something I built to support the mattress ... but that's a whole other story. Also, I'm not sure why the photos are all rotated different ways. That's not how they looked when I uploaded them.

STRONG - EASY TO ASSEMBLE
Worked great in hook slot style head board, we recently bought a new headboard offered as clearance from a furniture store, my wife did not realize that or old bed frame and header/footer was bolt on and that by using the new headboard we would also need to buy a new bead frame. Bed frames with dedicated hook style connection is not as readily availability and less variety so we bought a bolt on bed frame also know we would still need an adapter. It was actually cheaper doing it that way then buying a bed frame with dedicated hooks already built in. It was not difficult to add the adapter to the bed frame, after determining which height and slot to fasten to, the frame easily attached to the new headboard. Easy as 1 2 3
