I only buy faber-castell pencils for all of my art students to learn how to draw and shade. I have been teaching art for over ten years and recommend to parents only these pencils for their children. You can shade easily. They sharpen nicely. Wonderful product.

8B pencils are a dark, dark graphite. Cheaper brands do not hold their point and/or break within the wood core. These do not. They're a pleasure to use, and if you're into seriously black graphite pencils, these are worth the cost. Buy with confidence. Five easy stars.

I bought this pencil for a student who has a visual impairment and she is able to distinguish the lettering now, as each line is much darker and bolder in comparison to using a regular #2 pencil. Sketching with this pencil is also very nice as the pencil glides over the paper smoothly.

My son is a budding artist. He loves this pencil. This is the one he asks for all the time. He loves the feel and the texture of the lead.

I use these for doing crossword puzzles. The dark color is great for older eyes.

I am a pencil lover. These are awesome - especially if you prefer to write in dark lead.

The pre-sharpened feature is nice. They sharpen very easily with no breakage experienced so far.

I have been using FC's 8B pencils for the longest time. Not available everywhere but glad to know I can get them from Amazon.sg. Well delivered and all good. I share these pencils at handwriting workshops. Highly recommended. Not just any 8Bs, but Faber-Castell's.
