Bonne Bell no longer manufactures it, but Prince Matchabelli smells absolutely identical.

Q: Is this the original "skin" by bonnie bell? if yes, why is the scent different now? if no, how long has it been under prince matchabelli?

It is absolutely NOT the same as the originsl by Bonnie Bell. I've been wearing this perfume for more than 35 years. My husband gave me some for Christmas and it barely smells like baby oil. The box said it's from Fragrance Rebel. The box is very close to the original. Terrible knock off!
