The Haynes Ford Engine Overhaul Manual: The Haynes Automotive Repair Manual for Overhauling Ford V8 Engines

I was a little disappointed that this book was lacking some of the detailed specifications, measurements, torque specs, etc. It seems like it's really more of a basic instructional guide for an overhaul and assumes you also have a service manual for a car that has the engine you are rebuilding.I'm putting a 302 in my '54 Ford, and was really hoping this would not only serve as a manual for parts replacement, but also as a technical resource for things like fluid capacities, bolt torque specs, etc... but it really lacks specific detail throughout. Even for parts replacements, when you get to the part where specific detail about something is needed to complete the task, it just says "refer to your vehicles service manual for more information".I think it would be more helpful for the guy that has an X model with a Y engine and already has a service manual for that car, but just wants an additional book that will help guide him through the engine overhaul process. If you don't need an overhaul process and just want technical info, figure out what car/truck model your engine most closely represents and go buy a service manual for that car.

I bought this book for a 1969 Mustang that needs a lot of restoration. From what I have read so far, it is very valuable. Good buy.

almost everything you need .....but there are no torque spec in this book. how can you overhaul an engine without them i had to do a search to find them. I feel they should be in this manual for it to be a complete overhaul manual.
