Very meaningful book
Very powerful book. It shows the devotion and love for the education profession. I knew the author many years ago, although never as his student. Still, it is not a surprise to see his impact on so many people. This book clearly would be of interest to educators, but also those who wish a study in character. Generally I read military history, enjoying the strong individuals involved. There are many parallels here in a very positive way. Vey well written...enjoyable to read. Written in the first person, so often would hear Mr. Flickstein's deep baritone voice in my "mind's ear". Highly recommended.

One Star
Narcissistic. Some people become teachers in order for their egos to be stroked.

Love this book.
Beautifully written memoire of a high school teacher. Dan writes about my high school and it is a great escape to read his experiences with his students. I am in the book too!

Moments of a Gifted Teacher
As a fellow teacher with many years of experience, I applaud Mr. Flickstein's book. Too many people outside of the educational worldfeel compelled these days to comment on matters they know nothing about. In this real, compassionate, and honest description, we seewhat a a teacher actually does in modeling lives. The highs and lows in teaching are presented in such a forthright, perceptive andpersonal way, the public will be able to see for itself what it takes to be a great teacher, like Mr. Flickstein.
