Love this.
I write and record my own music, and was sick of programming drums through the SR-16. It was to the point that I had projects I wasn't going to finish because I hated that process so much. The KAT has completely changed that.I purchased this to use as a midi interface with a SR-16 drum machine so that I could play the parts while recording. I'm not a drummer so I usually play one part, maybe two, at a time. It worked perfectly with that using the midi out from this into the SR-16. That being said, I really like some of the drum sounds right out of this thing. For my needs, I pretty much have stopped using the SR-16 and just use the built in sounds of the KAT.As other's have mentioned, the downside is that there is no recall function. I usually leave the pads assigned to the same sounds, so it's not that big of a deal. When I do change them, I have written down the settings so moving back is not time consuming. This works for home recording. If you're trying to switch live, it will be more challenging. At that point, I'd recommend using the midi into another device, and switching scenes on the secondary device. I will probably never use this live, but that's what I'd do if I had to use more than 4 sounds.***I am using this for surf/rock drums. I'm not a drummer and don't use complicated drum parts. A better drummer could probably get way more out of this, but for what I need, this works perfectly.

Very Decent choice for basic E drum-pad
I really love this drumpad. Very fun to play. I get decent out put paired with my amp. Very simple controls, easy to figure out. Lightweight, easily fits in my backpack to transport to my group jam session. I'm not the dedicated drummer of the group but I'm capable to fill in in a pinch when our real drummer isn't available. The only Con: Is it's very basic. Kick drum, snare, ride but no crash, No exotic sounds except for a Shaker, type noise, no variety, no cowbell, no footpedal included ( must be bought sepetately)..Great buy compared to a similar pad for hundreds more.

Great Machine
The media could not be loaded. Sounds great. Definitely worth the money and a must for soloists

Nice pads for sticks and hand-drumming, but severely limited MIDI
The only MIDI message it sends or receives is 0x99 (NOTE_ON).The MIDI plug is for output only. You must use the USB-D plug to trigger notes from your PC/tablet/phone.None of the control knobs or buttons will produce any MIDI output, only just the 4 pads and 2 foot pedals themselves. The USB-D plug can both send and receive, but again, the only MIDI signal it responds to is 0x99 (NOTE_ON).You can indeed trigger the KTMP1 internal sounds from an Android smartphone, but ONLY for the 5 notes that are currently configured onto the 4 pads plus pedal. And unfortunately, the only way to choose those 5 notes is to manually press the up/down "SELECT" buttons on the unit. The 0x99 (NOTE_ON) signal DOES include the velocity volume, but there is no aftertouch, breathing, reverb, or any other parameters either transmitted or received by the KTMP1. Refer to the last page of the 10-page User Manual for a complete "MIDI Implementation Chart". It's not super obvious, but it does spell out that NOTE_ON is the only MIDI capability that KTMP1 can send and receive. Also, be aware that the unit HAS NO MEMORY, so every time you turn it on you have to press buttons several dozen times just to get it going with the sounds you prefer. And if you don't use it for about 5 minutes, the unit automatically shuts off and loses all your settings! Then you have to stop everything and press several dozen button presses all over again, to get the sounds setup again. ENORMOUS PAIN, every time you sit down and turn it on. MIDI control change messages have no effect, so you have to enter your entire sound configuration manually by hand every time you turn it on just to get started. If all your samples and drum sounds are already working on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, then the KTMP1 can trigger those sounds with a simple NOTE_ON message through either USB or MIDI-to-USB cable. Nothing more.I keep it next to my desk as a fidget spinner toy. Nifty hand drum for background riffing throughout the day.

100% recomendado

The best FX in the results at play
Not as complex as most pads out, but it give you an amazing range of FX that does the job just as well. The unit is sturdy and durable. It's like quality product for an affordable price. I purchased two of them, and I'm completely satisfied. I would get this, as long as they keep it at the price point the have it at.

Will not work with an acoustic kit
i am in a cover band that gets paid to play. We were going to use this to trigger backing tracks within Ableton. The pad worked flawlessly with our electronic drum kit we use in practice. HOWEVER, when we got a practice in with our acoustic kit that we use in shows, the pad would trigger random pads every time the acoustic snare drum was struck. We tried the settings with the sensitivity on the pad and it would not solve it. No matter what, it would trigger a random pad each and every time the snare was hit. So, we are returning this because it absolutely will not work for us unfortunately. Nice pad otherwise. But, this seems like a huge deal to me.
