Hotpoint 8kg Freestanding Condenser Tumble Dryer - White

Bought this condensation tumble dryer to replace a ten year old outside vent dryer also Hotpoint, this model has an 8KG drum which is big compared to the old 7.5Kg model.This purchased for a 94yr old relative, the main reason for purchase was the simple turn knob control with just two switches so very uncomplicated to operate and the same brand as the old one which has lasted well.The only real problem found is as this a condensation dryer the hot air output is expelled internally into the laundry room which can get very hot as has no windows or vents, this means leaving the door open which allows tumble dryer noise to reveberate around the house.The dryer works very well and collects the condensation into the front loading tank for emptying occasionally although a fan now having to be fitted into the laundry room to expel hot air externally, so apart from that extra expense the Tumble dryer continues to perform as expected.

Trailing though copious amounts of condenser tumble dryers i started to get the hump, i honestly dont need an appliance that you can turn on from the Moon by an Alexa App, Smart Watch App, Apple IPhone App or any other App come to think of it. I just want to open a door put stuff in it close the door turn a button on!! This Does That!!!! Water tank is at the top so no bending down to empty it ( I'm 54 and on vitamins ) Perfect! It Fluffs all my towels up, drys clothes to perfection and works a treat! Would have given it 5 stars but i payed for the Nice delivery Man to bring it to a room of my choice and remove all packaging ( my recycling bin was full and dustman are not the most tolerant of people at 5.30 AM) He took one look at the stairs and legged it down the garden path!! But the Nice people at Amazon refunded the 20 quid. 100% Recommend.

Never bought an appliance on line before but it arrived in perfect condition. Looks good and works very well. Pretty quiet as well. The big door is good for easy access. My only niggle is the timer control knob sticks out quite far. I’m sure it could be slimmed down a bit. Yes I’d recommend this.

The first machine delivered, had an unusualy noisy pump, much louder than my previous, long owned machine of the same brand and model. As recommended by Amazon services, and indeed my own experience, I ran it for a for a few days, to eliminate the possibility of the pump being extra noisy because it needed to be primed, with a good build up of water. This did not solve / change the problem. I returned the machine for a refund. Being familiar with this brand of machine, I ordered the same model again couple of weeks later, hoping of course that this time, all would be well. When the second/ replacement machine of this same model arrived, it gave off a loud thumping sound, once for every revolution of the drum. Also, there were signs that this second machine, may have been a second hand one, that had merely been re-wrapped and sent out again. The dryer had left a trail of water as it as carried, and the instructions/documentation were not bagged, but were instead taped to the top of the machine. As the rather rough, and seemingly budget couriers used on both occasions were somewhat brusque, unfriendly and in a conspicuous hurry, I had trustingly let then put the machine in my utility room and leave before placing and testing the machine myself. I will now have to order a third time, this time trying another brand, from a different vendor. This will be the fifth time I have had to stop in, just to eventually get one ( hopefully) working machine.This leads me to assume that either the vendor selling through Amazon, was sending out previously returned / re-packaged goods, or that the build quality of Hotpoint has changed markedly since I last bought their goods some years previous. I am very unhappy all round.
