Great light hearted book for someone ALREADY in middle school as well
My daughter has anxiety. I bought this for her not realizing it was geared towards children entering middle school, she's already in the 7th grade. After looking through it I decided to give it to her anyway because it's light hearted and funny and definitely applies to some of the things that cause her stress. It's a total winner. I bought her the second book as a result. I definitely recommend.

My daughter devoured it!
My 6th Grade daughter devoured this book. It came on a Friday afternoon and she was done on Sunday afternoon. I heard the author interviewed on NPR and bought it on the fly. It is loaded with pics, she's not a speed reader !! It's put together like a "diary of a wimpy kids" book. Well done from what she says.

Hilarious and heartwarming. A most for the middle schooler in your life!
Love this book. The illustrations are absolutely delightful and Abbie and her family are beyond charming, funny, and complicated in the way all families are. Highly recommend for readers looking for a good laugh and what's more, a heart-warming coming of age story.

unrealistic
This book is unrealistic. Sure sometimes things are a little unfair at school but this is ridiculous. The whole thing is based n gettinf to eat junk food for lunch but the 8th graders have dominated it. They could just get a parent to complain. And sure its hard to live in a siblings shadow but ullfind ur own thing eventually. The only thing i liked about the book was when she stood up for the class. the doodles were oktoo. Woyld not hve readthe book but had to for a book club. The charactef acts like a brat for the whole beginning of the book

Weird book for a child
I found this book interesting. It is funny but I can't imagine a child finding it funny. It's all about how miserable a certain child is on it doesn't end with her not being miserable.

We Throughly Enjoyed It
This was such a fun and easy read for my 10 year old. We read it together and even I wanted to know what happens next. The doodles made the book fun and interesting.

Fun and Relate-able
Bought for a Picky 10 year old. She has already indicated she wants to read more in this series. Anything to get her reading. It is fun and easy for her to relate to the characters. She described it as almost a Diary for Wimpy kids for girls (but she liked it better than the Dork Diaries).
