Had to have this movie for our annual halloween movie watching tradition. This movie confuses people because the title makes you think of Christmas but our family very much likes watching the Pumpkin King do his thing around Halloween. It's a great Tim Burton film. My 10 year old loves this movie. Be warned there might be some younger kids that get freaked out by some of the nasty halloween monsters. My daughter has liked this movie since she was about 6 years old if that helps at all. This is a must have in your collection even if you don't have kids.

So there’s a problem with the one I received... it’s missing a whole line in the song “This is Halloween” at the beginning of the moving. “I am the ‘who’ in the call ‘who’s there?’ I am the wind blowing through your hair.” This whole line is not in the movie for some strange reason. I’m not sure how this can happen, and I noticed immediately. I bought this movie in September but just now got around to actually watching it(we’ve seen it hundreds of times.)

This one of my favorite movies. It has an awesome romance. It has one of the toughest and most lovable female leads to grace the screen in Sally. In Jack we have a classic mid-life crisis, a fall from grace, and a reinvention. Jack's voyage of self discovery draws us in almost tragically. With a 76 minute run time, every detail in every screen is used and that economy truly enhances the experience. The Two Faced Politician/Mayor is an example of the attention paid to detail here as the fantasy is most effective when mirroring reality.If you have to limit your film library to a dozen titles--The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) would be a worthy entry. In my many watchings it has managed to stay fresh and relevant.

I was a child when this came out and it was something that was always played around the Christmas time. I purchased this purely for nostalgia and to show the kids the magical word of Tim Burton movies. They were impressed and the feelings I got when watching it now are the same as back then. If you haven't seen this before or aren't old enough to remember it, then check it out. The animation style is great and with Tim Burton's unique approach to character design it makes for a good movie for kids and adults at Halloween.

I brought this for my daughter and Grandson. My daughter has loved this film since it first came out and her old copy had given up the ghost! I recommend the film highly!

I have always been a fan of many of Tim Burton's films and his artwork / visual style; that's what I admire so much in this film is not just the highly imaginative story and original artistry in sculpting / drawing the characters and locations, but the stop-motion film making process, which is credit to the director Henry Selick and his production team also.Burton's eclectic mix of styles is recognisable immediately with influences of: german expressionism, hammer horror, universal horror, Dr. Seuss artwork and the story of the outsider trying to fit in and eventually accepting or being accepted for who he is as a person. Danny Elfman's score and musical numbers are of course genius and perfectly suited for the film, which stands alone as a great score in it's own right; the film would not be the same without it (comes in 7.1 surround sound on this blu-ray).Overall I would highly recommend buying this film in Blu-ray, there are a good deal of interesting special features available such as: documentaries, deleted scenes and original early short films by Tim Burton such as 'Vincent' and 'Frankenweenie'. The transfer looks and sounds stunning and as expected the film has never looked or sounded so bright, crisp, detailed and colourful - it looks 3D even in 2D!

I love this tale ever since I first saw it in school. I bought this for my family's Christmas Eve Film Night with some other films. Since it is both a Halloween and Christmas film (Thank you Tim Burton for confusing a world as to what kind of film it is ;) ) I thought it would suit all members of the family which it does- My family love it. The tale is about a skeleton who is the king of Halloween seeking to find himself and the girl who has always been there right under his nose. Sally and Jack are perfect together with the music makes it a classic tale for Halloween and Christmas both for renewed hope and a fright to think what might happen if things changed! It came in good time and was in very good condition.
