My 10 year old son absolutely LOVES this! Most of the apps he is using are free or .99. definitely a better option than the expensive ones for his age.

Works as well as this type of technology works but FOV not for me
Worked fairly well but I find the limited view kind of distracting. This is probably the nature of this kind of Google Cardboard kind of setup but it looks like you are looking through binoculars at it. In effect the field of view is round. And you are looking at rectangular images. Also the description was wrong on mine or something as it said it came with the gamepad. I was sent one for free as they claim they had just changed it and the description was no longer supposed to say it included it.

iPhone 5 works, Samsung s5 had an issue.
Wanted to try VR to see what it was all about.I have a Samsung s5 and my son has a iphone 5 which both fit this device.Where the phone goes, it's a movable holder.PRO:- Both phones fit in the device (iphone 5 and Samsung s5). There is a retractable phone holder inside that is spring loaded.- Feels good on the head, no too heavy.- Doesn't feel like cheap flimsy plastic.- Enough room to wear eye glasses with this device.CON:- In my case, the image was VERY blurry. I do wear eye glass (near sighted) and I thought maybe for some reason I needed to wear my glasses. I put my glasses on and same result. I discovered with my Samsung s5, if the door is closed all the way (the front area where the phone is), it was blurry but if I unlatched the door and opened it just a little bit which pulled the phone screen away from the magnified eye pieces, it came in focus. So that ruined the effect of course because now you have to hold the unlatched door and keep it the correct distance away to keep it in focus... That was a big bummer. BUT the iphone 5 was fine with the door completely latched... Not sure what the reason was...
