Excellent read
I have read a lot of books on the Mafia and this writer tells it like it is. He explains in detail certain aspects of the book and repeats some things so as the reader does not forget who is who and what they did. Fascinating insight into the bad guys and good guys. Would recommend this author ( Joe Pistone )without a shadow of a doubt and I'm only sorry I didn't read it years earlier.Billy Connolly

More a stretched-out epilogue to the first book
Not as good as Pistone's first Donnie Brasco book, but still an okay read. The first book was better written (surely down to the co-writer) and was only put down when I needed to eat. I read it in no time. This one tends to repeat itself, sometimes has poorly-constructed sentences and doesn't really offer anything substantially new from when the first book came out. And to call it "Unfinished Business" when it ends on a double incomplete note (the fate of both the two 'Mafia Cops' and the prosecuted FBI agent) was a little unfortunate and disappointing. However, I still recommend it, not least because of some of the things Pistone reveals; his clear respect for Sonny Black, often comparing him in a brighter light to the capos of other crews; Pistone's new admission that he did things undercover that he will take to his grave (what these are is anyone's guess. Extreme violence? Cheating on his wife? Drugs? Murder? Only he knows); his work with Scotland Yard; the real truth why he quit the FBI with just 4yrs left before his pension (ever had a boss who made your life hell?); how people from Little Italy still call him "Donnie", even though they know his real name; how some of them are split on whether they happily forgive him or consider him a "rat", which is strange considering they now know he was an undercover FBI agent trying to put these mobsters in jail and not a mobster himself; and, of course, Johnny Depp's fart machine on the Donnie Brasco movie set!In short, nowhere near as riveting as the first book, but still a must-read for those who want an epilogue to how the first book finished.

I'd like my money back
if you read and enjoyed the first book don't bother with this one.Constant repetition that is insulting to the readers intelligence and the authors enormous ego make this a tough read. It's understood that the author has tremendous courage and a very strong mindset, however his sheer arrogance is very apparent throughout. This book seems to be trying to squeeze more cash from the story, as stated the author has courage, but zero humility.

Worth reading if you’ve nothing else to hand
It’s ok, worth a read yes but don’t expect it to be anywhere near as good as the first Donnie Brasov book. This is just an attempt by Pistone to further profit from the original story.

A rehash for commercial purposes.
Joe Pistone aka Donnie Brasco is a brave man. But this book is a pale imitation of his original memoir.
