Great for my orchids
I love these to pot my orchids in! They are also great to put on top of the soil for my humidity loving plants like Gardenias. They can be misted daily to increase the humidity without over-watering. They look pretty too, and can be washed off and reused. Really like them.

Colorful
"Ceramsite is natural, made from balls of clay that are kiln roasted until they expand, creating a porous honeycomb texture inside.can be used as an additive mixed in with your potting mix, as a top-layer on pots, or a bottom drainage. Ceramsite should be soaked and rinsed before first use BUT unlike leca ceramsite tends to need fewer rounds of soaking to get out clay silt out and the water in. However, it's HOW you soak ceramsite that's the main difference to how you prepare leca." -info from LoveThatLeaf.com

Nope.
Well, these are exactly what they are advertised to be. They are small colored ceramic beads. I could find nothing wrong with the quality of these. However. There is a reason they chose to advertise these by weight rather than volume. 6 pounds sounds like a lot but in reality, it measured out to a little less than five and a half cups. That works out to about $5.00 a cup. If you are thinking of filling vases or bowls to grow plants in you will be spending a fortune.

Do not use for semihydroponics
This is not leca. Do not use it for semihydroponics or propagation in water. After a few hours it causes a huge spike in pH level which can hurt your plants, if not kill them. The bottom square on the test strips tests pH. The yellow one on the left indicates a very low pH of about 4 only 15 minutes after soaking these clay pebbles. The red one on the right indicates a very high pH of about 9 after soaking the pebbles for 12 hours. Plants ideally want a pH between 5.5 and 6.5 which would be a light orange color. This super high pH will damage your plants. They should not be advertising this product for hydroponics.

Cute
These are really cute plants toppers. I bought these for my succulent pots. They don’t look good for that. A house plant works really be cute. You don’t get very many in a bad. So it works be costly.

colorful but too little in size
Nice product but can't believe only fairly enough for one small size pot for my orchid.
