Just what I was looking for
I'm recently retired and have been enjoying fresh brewed tea nearly every morning. I had been boiling water in a regular pot but forgot about it on the stove a few times so I started looking for a whistling kettle. I came upon this one and I have other Chantal cookware so I trust the brand. For some reason the yellow was significantly cheaper than the other colors so I immediately pulled the trigger. After a couple weeks of almost daily use I couldn't be happier with this purchase.First off, the whistle is loud and I can hear it even from my upstairs bedroom, which is the primary feature I was looking for. The handle is sturdy and stays cool as well as being just right ergonomically to handle a full pot with ease, and the spout pours without any dripping at all. A huge bonus is that the bright yellow and eye-pleasing shape bring such cheerfulness to the kitchen that I display it on the stove even when I'm not using it.I only boil water in it so cleaning isn't a big consideration for me personally but the enameled finish should be easy to clean no matter how the kettle is used, although I wouldn't recommend it for outdoor use over an open fire. Bear in mind, though, that however carefully enamel-over-steel finishes are treated, they will inevitably get nicks and chips over time. My mother called them "character marks" and she cherished them, as do I in observance her timeless wisdom, so I can't wait to see what character my kettle will develop over time. The kettle is made overseas (I think the sticker said Thailand) but don't let that dissuade you -- this is a quality-made product that I can tell will last and be passed down to my children.

So far, so good - whistle is strong
Bought this after accidentally breaking our last Chantal, and the whistle is amazing. We’ve gone through about 3 tea kettles in 5 yrs, either they had whistling issues or sealing issues which made the whistle hit or miss, so the kettles ended up damaged. So far this one has held up to daily use after a couple months, cover is easy to remove to fill water, color is steadfast and whistle is strong. The flip to open the whistle top for pouring is a bit difficult to open, but we’ll deal. The handle seems to have loosened a bit, but there are screws so I’m sure we can just tighten it. The seamless bottoms of Chantal tea kettles have been our favorites because they can easily be scrubbed clean and water doesn’t get stuck in cracks causing rust.

Great kettle
I just used it for the first time today. I didn’t have any issues. It’s a very pretty, well made addition to my kitchen. I did read the insert about how to avoid problems. I’ve kept the insert and will make sure to re-read it from time to time. So far, so good.

Great Value
Beautiful tea pot that is quite sturdy. The color is a pretty powder blue and I expect it to last a long time. The lid is tight so as not to allow steam to leak during heating as well. Fortunately, the tea pot arrived unchipped, however, my only negative would be that this was surprising given the way it was not packaged to protect. It was left loose in an oversized box. Given it could have been tossed about in transit, I am happily surprised it was not chipped.

Nice teakettle for induction cooktop
It's been hard to find a teakettle that is really suitable for an induction cooktop. Many brands listing on Amazon say they are but are not. A magnet must stick to the bottom.I've had Chantal teakettles in the past, which were several hundred dollars. This is a very good value.A plus from the old expensive Chantals is that the lid opens very easily for cleaning and filling. The old ones you really had to fill through the spout because the lids were so hard to get off. That put too much stress on the whistler and they ended up breaking. The one minus is that the whistle isn't very loud. It's okay -- even my partially deaf husband can detect it from the other room. :-) But the old model used an actual Honer harmonica in the whistler, which was very cool but did add to the cost.Overall a good buy!

Love, love, love it!
Have you ever realized how many teapot options there are in the world? Jeepers. I looked and looked and looked for the prettiest design. I ordered two and returned two. But this one, it's a keeper! It is beautiful and functional. Here's the deal: you can't know how easy/hard it is to get the top off and get the water (filtered via a pitcher) in the top until you try it. You need a teapot with the handle up high and out of the way for one thing. And, who wants to wrestle the kettle to the ground in the morning trying to get the top off and back in? This one has a nice and high handle, and the top easily pops out but also securly slips smoothly back in. It's perfect. But most importantly, it's so sleek and pretty on my stove!

Great kettle!
I purchased this kettle about a month ago and use it daily. It's easy to use. The handle does not get hot on the gas stove. But I do use a potholder to open the spout (THAT gets hot!) and as a precaution to pour hot water into my French press. Some people have commented on rust forming inside but I haven't seen any develop. I keep the spout open and empty the kettle after use. I also keep the lid off so the kettle can air out. The bottom of the kettle looks brand spanking new - no burn marks. The whistle works great. The cats aren't thrilled with the sound - they run. But that's ok! I expect this sturdy, well-made kettle to last a long time.

Enamel chipping off
We've had this several years with daily use, but for the cost I wouldn't expect the enamel to be chipping. I have enamelled pots that are older than I am without issues.
