Great direct replacement for my old oven

Do not buy until you have read this. Do not buy.
Firstly the positives; easy to use (understand controls) and appears "reasonably" well made.The major problem for my wife and I has been an undocumented feature, which you will not find in any advert or in the Hotpoint user manual.You CANNOT use the double grill on full power (4 on the knob) for more than 8 minutes because of an automatic safety feature, which switches the grill off for a full 5 mins meaning that you cannot cook crispy bacon, sausages and a whole host of other foods. No matter what you do you cannot get the grill to go back on until it has cooled down (5 mins) during which time your bacon or sausages are cold.This grill, in my opinion, is no use. I have never had such a frustrating piece of kitchen equipment ever. If I had known about this undocumented "8 min Safety Feature" I would never have bought it. The Hotpoint Serviceline was useless, knew abolutely nothing about the product and sent an unwanted Hotpoint engineer (COVID19) who said there was no fault with the oven and charged us £55 for the privilege.The engineer stated we were the fourth customer he knew of complaining of the same "fault", which was not a fault but a Hotpoint design safety feature. He was polite but no practical use and did not offer us any advice as how to circumnavigate this ridiculous unhelpful design safety feature.I understand the need for safety but 8 mins is far too short a time, 25 to 30 mins yes I could understand but 8, really?In short do yourself a favour and avoid this double oven. Do not buy it.

this cooker was used for 4 weeks the grill does not cook evenly the back of a slice of bread gets burnt and the front is fine i phoned helpline who i spoke to was a guy waste of time no HELPfrom the beginning of using the oven food was not cooked evenly has got worsei believe that Hotpoint WAS A GOOD MAKE i would not recommend THEM TO ANY BODYi have but up with throwing food in the bin because its come out the cooker half cookedand i feel its a waste of time phoning because the past phone calls was waste of timeDO NOT BUY THIS ITEM
