Totally loved loved loved it. Fabulous.
I've found a fabulous new author and I'm difficult to please. He's way up there with the best. Am thrilled and looking forward to reading the rest. Very gripping and empathetic. Superb.

Powerful
Trigger warnings for abuseThese backstory novella's are incredibly powerful. They bounce between past and present which is not always clearly defined. They are easy to follow but difficult to read due to emotions evoked. No editing errors, gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama. Not all questions are answered but these are not cliffhangers. The storylines contain descriptive writing that draws the reader into each scene. One easily becomes the character. Realistic procedures, acrions and reactions. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and memorable dialogue.I may re-read this collection and look forward to other works by this author.

The Survivor
I loved the book, full of action and believable people. I got confused a few times with the time jumps, but definitely worth it.

This was one of the best books i have ever read
This was one of the best books i have ever read. I have all the other Sam Archer books and they are excellent but this one is 3 separate stories about characters in those books and gives you their back stories and why they are who they are today. I won't go into detail about them as i hate to ruin it for people but the middle book, written about Lisa and the twin towers was stunning. If it doesn't wrench every emotion out of you.........what can i say......you need to read it again properly!!!!!!

No Surprise - Another Great Book!!
Thank you for another great read!! I'd give Close Calls a 10 if I could. I'm so glad today was a storm day, I started reading Sunday evening when the snow storm started and got through Devil's Night. It's Monday and I just finished Uptown Girl and Hide and Seek. I loved being able to read about Sam Archer's team mates. Although we don't really see Archer until the very end of the book, it's still a thrilling adventure - 3 actually. These short reads are compelling, at times heart pounding intense but have a somewhat happy ending (I'm a hopeless romantic!!) Please hurry with Sam Archer #9.

Wonderful companion to the full length books
I had already read almost all of the series when I discovered this set of three stories, each about one of the characters whom I had men in the full-length books. It was fascinating to understand the back story of each of them and understand their actions and commitment more completely.
