83 is fat bike not standard 73 Mountain bike.
Someone else mentioned that it still works and it does by just removing the center sleeve. Water, dirt and other contaminants might get in there. But I did save a pretty penny on it.

DUB B.B. for ANY size threaded shell
This is a DUB bottom bracket for threaded bottom bracket shell. The plastic sleeve that installs between the two cups is for use with 83mm shells. I don't install the plastic sleeves on my builds. I just installed this 83mm version on my Felt Virtue with a 73mm threaded shell.
