Bink's journey follows the story line of his favorite bedtime book, Baby's Day Out, and he goes to a zoo, a construction site, and a retirement center. Hughes is following his accountant's favorite bedtime tale, "Let's rewrite Home Alone again," but with very little of the humor or impact of that smash. A number of scenes center on the crushing or incineration of Joe Mantegna's groin, not exactly family-fare yuks. What Are You Waiting For…Please Watch!
So much nostalgia and comedy! It’s an absolute classic. Watched it many years ago but had to rewatch this movie once more with my family and it was a great end to our evening.

This is one of those funny family movies which can be passed from generation to generation, such is the infectiously funny nature of the film set around the adventures of a small baby who finds his way out into the real world. After seeing this as a child myself and being unable to resist it's innocent charm, when I became a Dad myself I had no hesitation in showing it to my son who is now 4 years old and it had the exact same effect on him! It's rare that family movies are able to do that, and the inevitable comparisons to Home Alone I and II go deeper than just the surface. The 'bad guys' are in similar mould and the plot is basically the same premise, with slapstick humour throughout, however the underlying warmth is something which is very hard for any movie to accomplish and is one of the main reasons family's rush back to both Home Alone and this movie time and time over. "Baby's Day Out" is a simple joy.
