I ordered these specific pads because the description said the top layer was cotton and the absorbent layer was bamboo. The label says the top layer is 100% polyester and the middle layer is 95% polyester, 5% rayon, not a speck of cotton or bamboo. I did not have the option of returning them as I needed them immediately.

The waterproof backing is not anti-slip and further the backing is not bonded in such a way to prevent curling under use. My son is a very heavy sleeper. He has many night time accidents. Even having him wear a pull up or diaper doesn't always guarantee a dry bed. Often times they leak, I assume because of his age and size and that they don't make them large enough for his age. This has been so wonderful, so we don't have to change the bedding in the middle of the night if he leaks. We simply pull the wet one out from under him, and Slide the new dry one in.Since they are so portable, I have also used them on his cot for naps, and if he happens to fall asleep somewhere like my sofa or my bed I can slide it underneath him and not worry about him wetting the furniture. For the most part we have used them in conjunction with a diaper and it has done great to catch leaks, so not sure how absorbent they would be if a ton of liquid was poured on them. I would recommend them to anyone who has a similar situation.

This is waterproof and holds a lot of liquid. No complaints on that aspect. Unfortunately the back is kind of shiny not grippy so as my daughter moves around in her sleep the pad moves too. It's common to find she has peed right on the edge or it has bunched up so the pee gets on the bed. It does wash and dry in the machines well. It just needs some (machine washable and dryable!) grippy strips on the back.

Surface material of these two pads isn’t cotton, it is a blend. Machine washed immediately from the box and package. It is described as “soft cotton smooth and comfortable soft layer” which SNAGS EASILY. Pet nails, human fingernails, rough skin tags like rough dry elbows, rough dry hands, ALL SNAG the surface material of these two pads. It is also described as “hospital grade material”, I DON’T BELIEVE IT. These pads DO SLIP with body positioning, repositioning & weight shift adjustment over sheets and bedspreads. My wife and I are NOT happy with this product, as these does not meet our expectation for quality or durability. I’ll visit my local Medical Supply for quality product I expect and will purchase best product there. COMPARISON NOTE: I have a real hospital pad with a real cotton quilted fabric padded surface which is of the same approximate dimensions that has literally worn through daily use over the years into the second layer, it is TRUE HOSPITAL QUALITY and has NEVER SNAGGED IN 6-7 YEARS of ownership.
