Retro-Hook Plates For Wooden Bed Rail Restoration, Set of 4 with Screws, Bed Frame

Great for changing up an old bed frame and providing a nice tight fitting with the head and foot board. I had to lower the bed and did so by dropping the box spring down so that the top of it was level with the running board rails. This caused a problem with tucking in sheets because the metal frame around the box spring was 1/4" away from the rails. Using these hook-plates on the inside made the running boards go out 5/8" on both sides giving about 1" of space. It worked perfect and looks fine. I used a long bar clamp to hold the foot board and head board in place with the rials in the position I wanted. The raisl where installed 1.5" lower then original height as well. I then inserted the hooks all the way. Keeping the exact angle I raised the hooks 3/16" from the bottom and then added the screws. This resulted enough movement to allow the rails to squeeze tight when adding the weight of the bed. I also used a Kreg tool and added two pocket screws near the top of each rail end while the runner was under pressure. Absolutely no wobble what-so-ever!!

These things definitely work... Was able to securely attach the bed rails after one had failed... The frame is 12 years old but poor design to the original hooks caused the hooks to fail as the original hooks were only held by small pins that were just pushed into place... These screw into the bed rails and securely attach to the hooks with something like 6-9 screws. They appear incredibly strong now and have saved me from having to replace the bed rails. I decided to invest in a bed support system - the X-Support GS-3XS Steel Bedding Support System at the same time to avoid future failings of the rails. This was a smart combo as the Bed Claw rail reinforcement along with the GS-3XS Support System has made the frame possibly stronger than the original from the manufacturer. I really didn't feel like replacing the bed as the set is a really nice set. Was so glad to have a product like this. Thank you for such a wonderful product!

I bought a bed off or marketplace and it needed bed rails, after reading many reviews for metal hook in bed rails and none of them great I decided I’d have some made, I bought these hooks after measuring the spacing of the bars and delivered them with bed measurements to my Grandpa and now we have nice sturdy bed rails for my daughters bed . It’s an added bonus that they come with the screws needed to assemble I’d definitely recommend to anyone needing or making bed rails especially for the price it’s a great value!

Upon relocating, we somehow misplaced the original oak queen size bed rails and only had the full size, so when it was time to replace the mattress and having my better half desire the queen size, I made up two new oak queen length rails but found the hooks on the full were no easily removed so I bought these. Just as some said the holes are not counter bored so screw heads will not seat flush. I simply took each hook, marked them for position and used a 1/2" drill bit on my drill press to form the counter bore. Tada - all is well! Going on year two and they are working out fine.

Work very well. Arrived promptly and on time via USPS. Very heavy duty. I ended up buying longer screws as the ones that come with it are not long enough to support much weight. I used them to make rails to convert an antique full bed frame to queen. Worked very well.Only reason I didn’t go with 5 stars is the cost, seems a bit steep.

The product information did not include the overall dimensions -- and the plates we got are larger than the ones we are replacing (we had 2 original bed hook plates, and the other 2 had been lost, so we needed replacements). We will have to rout out the slots to make them deeper and taller in order to fit the plates into them, or we will have to mount the plates on the side of the rails, which will make the space for the bed supports wider, and then we'll have to make new, slightly longer bed supports.Lots of work to make these work -- if the dimensions had been included, we at least would have known what was facing us before buying.

I have an old spindle bed that had metal rails that had bent over the years and were no longer sturdy. After looking for replacement rails for quite some time, I ran across these hooks. Looking at the drawing and dimensions provided in the illustration in the left column of this listing, I was able to confirm that the bed claw would fit my headboard and footboard. I ordered the hook plates. They are heavy duty and included the necessary mounting hardware. My husband cut new wooden rails and attached the claw hooks to create new rails for the bed. A cost-effective solution that worked perfectly!

I needed this piece for my wooden bed and I searched high and low for this piece. It got the job done. The only isse that I had with this particular one is that the holes were not big enoigh for my bed and they were in the incorrect spot. However, that was nothing that a little drilling could not fix. There is ample room on the plate for this purpose. I recommend.
