Walking with God: How to Hear His Voice Paperback – September 13, 2016

John Eldredge is in a lane all his own. As is his wife. They are real, authentic, honest, vulnerable and real and this book articulates how to hear from God in every day life on everything that matters. Excellent read and will be in my top 10 favorites

This is a great tool of story telling to help navigate the adventure of walking with Jesus. Such basic and simple ways to welcome Jesus into your life in all things. Gentle, compassionate and grace led.

I really like the way Mr. Eldridge writes. It’s like he lets you in his mind and you’re reading his thoughts. His transparency to God and us, the reader, is simply a breath of fresh air. It’s exactly what God wants from us. Nothing dark can exist in that place. I love everything shared in this book. Good nuggets to walk away with and it left me wanting to read more from this author.

I've read onu entire life. Rich, deep, practical. Personal. I'm so glad I was told by mentor to read this book..I will be re-reading soon.

It takes courage to put oneself out there, to show one's imperfections and thoughts to thousands of readers. John Eldredge really puts himself out there for this book, admitting his struggles, internal battles, and sharing his year-long walk with God.First, this book made me think differently about what it means to walk with God. I have never really assumed that God cares so deeply about the mundane details of my - or any - life. Should I walk across the street or not? But, according to Eldredge, God not only cares about the mundane details of our lives, he wants us to include him in everything. He writes, "...hearing God requires surrender, giving all things over into his hands." And Eldredge means everything! Everything from picking out a new puppy to going on a horse ride. Like I said, it made me think differently...The one problem that I see in this book is that Eldredge makes everything a battle. And making everything a battle is somewhat unhealthy. C.S. Lewis once wrote, "There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them." Eldredge borders and tiptoes around the latter.It is an interesting read. Unique, for sure. I recommend it!

For those who want to deepen their relationship with God, this is an excellent read. Well-written from author's perspective & experiences. It is an easy read & not lengthy nor of a preaching nature. A focus is placed on learning to appreciate quiet time and talk with God. He speaks to us in ways we may not expect or look for. It is a look on how we each choose to travel and talk with God and our need to Listen while on our personal journey with Him. Enjoyable!

Im wring this for a fam member whos encarcerated for a framed setup of a hunting accident that the DA in Kingman Az is trying to say is attempted murder. We are praying that the truth be seen & comes out bt Mohave County has many situations they let go due to the various arenas of mobs & now the government has making up to do in bookings so they are grabbing anyone that is not "normal" as in special needs, physically disabled, mentally handicapped, even high functioning spectrum disorders, seizures and planting evidence to make them look like they are criminals & paying people to help. I got this book for my adult brother who is very intelligent & highly functioning spectrum disorder but social skills are a little slower in learning...he also has a horrible time with changes! He said this book gave him a new perspective on why God put him in the situation he is in & how he can listen to God beyond the noise of the Jail he has been in for almost 2yrs...so much for a fair & quick trial! I have been stalked, had records stolen, & the DA try to get people that never knew my brother to testify against him & say they knew him when they didn't. It turns out that the Judges in Arizona have ties to Russian Intelligence & they have been planning this as a retaliation for a long time because we are a military family.

John describes his real desire for walking with God. His book gives insight into the stages of life that I can totally relate as a mid-sixties man. He provides many examples of what I need to embrace as I desire to also walk with God, and with God’s hand on my shoulder.
