Excellent for adding network drops
I needed to add a more professional-looking wall panel for some CAT5 drops. Wires sticking out of walls were a real eye sore.In the past, I've added wall plates to wall cut-outs directly using dry wall anchors instead of the normal wall plate screws. While this works, it is tedious placing the holes level, if the anchors don't catch the wall as they should, or if the screws strip the anchors. A real pain.I saw these and decided to give them a try.I drew an outline using a pencil as described in the instructions. I then got a drywall saw and cut out the outline. I only needed to do a few extra minor cuts to the drywall hole to get the bracket to fit. Once it fit in, I just had to tighten the two included screws and the built-in vices clamp on to the opposite side of the wall.Wow! Snug and perfect! Much easier. All I needed to do was attach my new wall plate using its original screws. Perfect and professional-looking!I highly recommend this to any installers or do-it-yourselfer's. Say no to wires sticking out of walls!

Does the job, but need to "eyeball" it during installation
This mounting bracket was very good for my application (installing a 5.1 surround sound distribution wall plate). My reason for giving it only four starts is because the installation instructions are limited. Specifically, they have you use the inside of the bracket itself as a template for where to cut on the wall, but because what you sketch with this necessarily will be too small they instruct you to cut outside of the lines you just drew. The problem is that it is unclear how far outside the lines to cut. Go to far and you will have an exposed hole even after you install a face plate. Don't got far enough and the bracket won't fit. The manufacturer could have provided a correctly-sized template.Obviously, this is less of a problem if the face plate you are using is particularly large. Do see how everything measures up before working. My recommendation: err on the side of having the initial hold being a little small and use course grit sandpaper or a very sharp drywall knife handy to carve it out a little farther as needed (a drywall saw will not be as effective for removing just a little bit of drywall). I actually used a dremel-type rotary tool with a sander head to enlarge the hole to the required size.

Good Solution
I've used single-, double- and triple-gang Arlington Low Voltage Brackets for two separate home theater installations. If one takes care to cut the holes in the drywall correctly, they do a great job of securing the wall plate and associated cabling. They are substantial enough and have enough structural strength to secure the cabling in the wall and also provide enough support for cabling from the jack to the speaker. I experienced no issues with installation, which is straightforward. Just keep in mind that this product is designed for "low voltage" and should not be used as a substitute for properly installed metal or plastic boxes for 120 or 240 volt installations. Though I have not used them as such, I presume they might work for certain applications of 12 volt low voltage lighting, however I'm a purist, so I'd probably choose grounded metal boxes for that as well. I suggest that you do some research before purchasing for that purpose.

Great Existing Work Bracket!
This product makes adding a double gang, low voltage wall plate in your house a snap. Simply place the bracket where you want a wall plate and trace around the inside of it with a pencil. Use a utility knife to cut the hole *slightly* bigger and enlarge it as necessary to have a snug fit when you place the bracket in the hole. After you have placed the bracket in the hole, tighten the two screws until the plastic piece is pinching the drywall. Afterwards you should be ready to fish your cables through and install the face plate.I used several of these in my recent home entertainment center project and didn’t have any problems whatsoever. All of the wall plates I installed fit flush against the wall and looked great. The only reason I am taking off a star is because a template is not included for marking the hole in the wall, otherwise this is a fine product and works well. I would highly recommend them over the more expensive alternatives at your local big box store.

Add an outlet with ease
Great for adding an outlet. I used this for passing cables from my wall-mounted TV to the outlets/low entertainment center on the floor. It said to trace the outline of the bracket to pencil your cut-out, but this wasn't quite enough. I ended up cutting out more a little at a time, checking for a fit, cutting out more, checking for a fit. I used it with this item: DataComm Electronics 45-0002-WH 2-Gang Recessed Low Voltage Cable Plate, White . Note you'll need two brackets and two plates.

Excellent!
I ordered two (2) of these for my TV Wall Mount Project. They were excellent. It would be nice if they would include a pattern as you really can't trace the exact cutout onto the wall. You can roughly trace the inside and then cut outside the lines. Even at that I had to spend a bit of time getting them to fit perfect. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I took my time to ensure that the holes I cut weren't too big and would leave any gaps. Even w/o the templates though, this is a fantastic product and a huge help for any DIY job including drywall and adding outlets.

Face plate would not fit
Unfortunately it did not work with the RiteAV 12-Port Keystone Wall Plate I was using. The face plate would not sit flush due to this mounting ring being a little heavier duty/thicker than your normal one. This was suggested as a "Frequently Bought Together" product by Amazon, which I usually have good luck with in terms of compatibility. Ended up running to the local hardware store and buying one that fit. If you are using a high density face plate you want to consider this. However, it is very well made and I would use this again for other projects.
