Works exactly as described...use on my snow plow on my SxS
I uses this on my side by side to lift the snow blade. The down pressure that the actuator creates permits me to scrape by blacktop driveway. I previosly had a winch but the snow blade floated across the ice bumps. This actuator is relatively fast and I wouldn't be without one. Ditch the winch ! This probably wouldn't work good for soemoen with a gravel driveway as you would push off all your gravel/

Good Quality
Works great so far. Sturdy construction. Make to cycle once before attaching the brackets to find the exact closed or open distance.

Check it out before you install it
The only problem I had with this from the 1st day was, when the actuator went all the way out it still tried to keep going even at the end of its stroke. it was not making the microswitch took in cap off jammed a screw down into the plastic that the microswitch is on and that pushed it slightly down the tube so that the actuator for the microswitch was now hitting the switch and stopping it in the right position

Misrepresented as Waterproof – Failed After Normal Use, No Support
I purchased six of these actuators over time, trusting the original listing that showed and described them as waterproof. They were used exactly as advertised — in an outdoor application. Four of the six failed due to water intrusion, and you can literally hear water sloshing inside the housings. This isn’t misuse — it’s poor product design misrepresented as something it was not. When I contacted the company, they initially admitted the listing was inaccurate and said they would issue a refund. But after months of follow-up, they stopped responding and eventually told me they couldn’t refund one of the orders because it was fulfilled by Amazon — even though the product page and description came directly from Progressive Automations, not Amazon. They ignored detailed messages, failed to honor their own words, and ultimately offered me a 15% discount on a future purchase — after admitting the product was misrepresented. That’s not customer service — that’s avoidance. I’ve documented everything and given them every chance to resolve this ethically and professionally. If you plan to use these outdoors, be warned: They are not waterproof, and the company may not stand behind what they sell.

Working great! But pricy!
Working great! But pricy! I'm using this to open a trap door approx.. 70lbs installed in Jan. It April now so far so good. Price and not coming with mounting brackets is the only reason for not giving 5 stars

Really great unit!
I've used an electric actuator on my snow blower deflector for over ten years, usually trying to get by with a $60-$80 units that would burn out after 2-3 years. Half the time they didn't work at all due to being frozen. I decided to spend more money and get a higher quality unit and I'm glad I did. This unit is reasonably fast and is super smooth. I'm anxious to test it when the snow comes.

Alternative bed lift vs OEM
Installed this linear actuator size 10 in my 2011 Polaris ranger diesel for a bed lift, some slight modification on the motor mount side. I had to increase the Clevis hole sized rom 7/16 to a 1/2. Works well, very pleased with the functionality and speed. Also saved my self around $400 vs a OEM actuator.

Works as advertised
I installed this actuator to lift my Nordic plow on my ZT 1 50". It lifts the plow to max height in 7.4 seconds and lowers it in 5.71 seconds. The plow is 8" clear of the ground when fully raised. The raise time is almost twice as fast raising as another actuator I tried and more than twice as fast lowering. The clear height is 2" higher than the other actuators and is considerably stronger. I also use a smaller Progressive Automation actuator (325 lb push: 262 lb pull 6" travel) to angle the blade. If you use a Nordic plow on your zero turn and are tired of using your foot to raise and lower the blade and having to get off your zero turn to angle the blade you should give these actuators a try!
