Absolutely an amazing product!
So, I'm skipping the backstories that many like to tell and just getting down to product description.First, I expected a vintage journal, real leather coverings, old style paper to feel just like it was back in the old times. That's EXACTLY what I got!1) Packaging: The product was packed, wrapped, packed again and so forth. As you can see from the photos attached, I showed each stage of the unboxing and unwrapping of the journal. The protecting was perfect. The smell of real leather hit the moment I opened the inner-most bag.2) Journal: The leather is incredibly soft and flexible. The back of one of the journals (I purchased two of them at the same time) had a number of scrapes (see the photo) but that totally didn't both me. Show me any genuine and unaltered real leather that doesn't have some marks on it. To me, the scrapes just added to the highly vintage feel and look that I really wanted anyways! The bindings along the spine were quite secure and not cheaply done at all. Each of those bindings is what holds the sections of paper together, inside. The strap used to wrap around the Journal and close it up, just as soft and pliable as the rest of the journal's outer shells.Comparing the two journals I purchased together, they looked very very similar. Only the slight variances that would be in every genuine leather product. But the bindings, construction, paper colors, feel, cover color and everything all looked almost the exact same. PERFECT for those, like me, that plan to have a series of journals collected over the many years - and have OCD (like me!) and pretty much need them to look as similar as possible! lol3) The Paper: it is most certainly hand-made paper. Off-white color, softer feel and actually extremely easy to write on. (That's not pictured as it is my diary after-all). There were five bundles of paper that were bound into the journal's spine. I didn't count the number of pages (hey, this isn't a paid review of a product after-all! I'm not spending that kind of time! lol) but there were a lot of pages, so I'm confident the count provided in the description of the product is accurate. It's sure to last awhile before I'll need to start into the second book.4) Included Pen: The description said it would be a silver or gold pen. Both copies I received had gold pens provided. What I wasn't expecting and thought was just a design cover of the pens, in the product photos, was that it has the genuine leather wrapped around the pen body, as well. It's stiched on very tightly and quite secure and VERY comfortable on the pen. It's a very nice touch. The pen is twist-to-open. The writing is very smooth and I didn't have any times on my first page of journaling where the pen stopped writing, like if you were using a cheap pen and has to move your normal paper to get a better connection to the paper / ink transfer. No skips at all. It's not super flowing like a felt tip or a pen that just spills the ink out. You do have to push a bit onto the paper, but barely any more than average. The ink goes onto this type of paper easily and I didn't experience any smudging. I didn't exactly "try" to smudge my writing but I didn't hold my hand up as I continued to write / worried that I'd smudge it. It all just worked smoothly without issues.5) Price for what you get: I am actually surprised we are paying this LOW for what we are getting in quality and genuine leather / hand-made products.I want to purchase several more of these soon, so I can ensure I have a good stock of these journals. I don't want to risk this product being out of stock or stopped production in the future and have to go with something completely different as the months / years go on of journaling. I'm one of those that would really like keep a good set of journals that are the same looking / consistent in appearance.I hope this helps anyone that is on the fence about this product or wonders what it is really like, as a common buyer. I tried to picture one of my journals as best as I could. If you have any additional questions on it that I haven't covered, make it as a comment to this review and I'll try and answer them. Thanks to the suppliers that even emailed me before the journals arrived, just to make contact and provide an avenue to reach out, if I had any issues with the journal on arrival.

Cool journal
I love the way this has a very rustic, traditional book binding that truly does make it look like it came from another age. I have been a journaler for quite some time for a multitude of reasons, including jotting down reminders for myself, but then also recording entries when I believe something which is noteworthy that happened that day was enough so that I will journal it, both negative days and positive days. The only keeping me from giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is that, to me, the leather has a very pungent, unpleasant odor. I do not know if it has to do with the type of leather this is since it is Crazy Horse Leather, made from buffalo rather than cattle, or if it was the specific method of tanning. Either way, it isn't a huge deal, and I imagine the strong smell will dissipate as I continue to use it as I have only have it for several days. I really love the fact that you can scratch images into the leather binding and then just erase it by wiping it off with your hand. I have already drawn and written several things on the cover itself and, even though I have been journaling in it, a big part of the fun and appeal to me is to be able to customize the cover any way you want to. I intend to add more the cover at a later point, or perhaps even erase what I have now and make something new. Who knows. The best part of this for me, having an actual physical journal with a pen (in the gift set) is that we have all collectively gotten so comfortable and used to the conveniences that modern technology offers that I feel as though I am doing almost everything either on my PC or my phone. I have journaled on my PC and phone, and have used several different journaling apps which, while I am not saying I will never type up digital journal entries, it feels really nice to just sit quietly, perhaps with some coffee or hot tea, and write, draw, or whatever is your specific use(es) for the journal. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

Exceeded all of my expectations
From the sheer number of glowing reviews this journal has received, I thought there must be something going on. But it looked like the best option I was going to find, so I ordered one. Turns out, I was right – what's going on is that it really is that good. I didn't think that I'd find something this nice for such a low cost, but, well, here we are.I'll try to be brief, as there's so many reviews already gushing about every aspect of the journal. Plus there's no way I can come close to writing something as touching as the grandparent who bought this as a travel journal to leave for their grandkids to follow. The packaging is nice. I bought it for myself, but it does come in a nice gift pack, all wrapped in plastic and cardboard. I especially liked that it had a piece of card stock wrapped around the outside edge of the pages to protect them during shipping. The journal smelled a bit like cardboard when I unpacked it, but that's gone away after a couple days and now it just smells like leather. The journal itself is very charming, and the craftsmanship is very good. Whoever designed and assembled this clearly knew what they were doing. One thing that caught my eye is the design of the leather strap that wraps around the cover – it's stitched in such a way that the stitches are not visible from the cover. The pen loop is a nice touch too. The pen that came with the journal is just okay, but I'm certainly not going to complain considering the price.Overall I'm very happy with this. I wanted something that looked hand-crafted, like an explorer's journal or witch's spellbook, and that's exactly what I got. Couple that with a very reasonable price for the quality, and I'm a happy customer. I'll definitely be buying another when this one is full.

Love it
Product arrived early and the packaging was of good quality. The journal itself is very well made and the pen that came with it is of good quality as well. Will purchase again 🙂

Not genuine leather, but ok
The product is in fact not made out of Buffalo leather or whatever they claimed it was, instead being faux leather with a terrible smell. Other than that it is ok for a notebook
