Until You: 2 (The Fall Away Series)

In short I will admit that I did enjoy this book. I certainly had a few issues that I will run through point by point below, but overall I would still rate this as a worthwhile read (not necessarily a ‘top 10’, but a worthwhile read all the same).One thing that I though was GREAT was that the author went to the trouble of including a playlist at the beginning of this book! Well done and thank you 👍🏼. Even though this particular playlist may not be to my taste so many authors mention songs/lyrics randomly throughout their novels and I have always wished that they could simply take the time to list the songs as has been done here 👍🏼👍🏼 Thank you again Ms Douglas!My criticisms:A) as with Book 1, who ever proofread this novel needs to return their paycheque! 😣B) The grammar at times was awful! Example: “rubbing salt in it more”...?!... What?... Surely the correct English is “RUBBING MORE SALT IN IT.”C) I did like bad boy Jared and life had not been easy on him, but from an idealistic critics point of view I did at times wonder if it was fair that someone as genuinely nice as Tate end up with a firecracker like Jared... (Also can we not see the future danger that Jareds dad would/will post to their happiness if their relationship survives and lasts the course or time....???

It was with a certain trepidation that I started reading this. Bully was one of my favourite reads of this year, I've gone back and re-read it a few times now because the chemistry between Jared and Tate is amazing, even when he 'hates' her. My experience of reading the same story from another pov so far hasn't been great and I've been disappointed more than delighted with the same story/different pov offerings from other authors. Until now...Happily, I can say that this did feel like the story was being narrated through new eyes. I never totally understood Jared's behaviour towards Tate in Bully, but reading this actually made sense of his actions. It wasn't just a change of pronoun, it felt new and fresh.The chemistry was as hot as in Bully, even knowing what's going to happen next didn't diminish that and the sex scenes were even hotter than in Bully. Delish.This was a five star read for me right up until the very end where there's a 'gut-spilling monologue in front of a huge audience' scene. Personally I really dislike these scenes and I absolutely hate it when a character who is an intensely private person chooses to behave out of character to prove a point to someone else - especially when the 'someone else' is also a private person. It made me wince and it felt all wrong and because it happened at the very end it kind of marred the end of the story for me which was a real pity because until that point I was absolutely loving this story.Happily though, Madoc's story is next. We get quite a few hints at Madoc in Until You and I really looking forward to learning more about him and at the same time, learning more about Jared and Tate further along the line.Definitely recommend it if you enjoyed Bully, this woman can really write a compelling, addictive and engaging story.

Seriously didn't think I could love Tate's and Jared's story even more than I did but Until You just completely blew me away.When reading Bully it was obvious there was more to the bad boy than we get to know in the first book and this doesn't disappoint.Again the author wrote this beautifully.It was really good to understand Jared, his reasoning behind his actions (which were stupid), and his thought processes etc.I admit there were points upon reading this that if Jared had been standing in front of me then i would have considering smacking him upside the head. But in the end this book just made me love him even more.What surprised me was that with his perspective on things we had in Tate's book, sometimes Tate looked like she was the unreasonable one. Especially at the end of this one and what happened with Nate. I actually thought what Jared did was the right thing but then she flipped on him which confused me. He made it up to her in the end but throughout the last part of the book it just seemed like a lot of misunderstandings between the two of them.The love scenes in this from his perspective were also just as HOT as they were in Bully.I also loved the friendship between him and Madoc, i cannot wait for the next book to come out so I can read his and Fallons story. I will be ordering it as soon as I can :-)Loving this author, I will definantely keep on reading her books.

NOT just another POV book, telling the same old story that we're getting so used to.I truly loved Bully and found the story engaging, believable, and the characters really endearing.To see a book that was going to be from another character's POV I was excited but I have to admit hesitant given some recent experiences with well known authors.I am soooooo pleased to say I couldn't have been more wrong!! I loved Until You from beginning to end.I not only saw some aspects of Bully from Jared's POV but I also got so much more of his story, as Penelope promised. It took the story so much further without that feeling of unnecessary repetition and I also got to know some of the other characters much better.Those of you that know me know that I'm not one to write a review for every book I read. I write them when something leaves a mark on me rather than just being 'a good read'. The whole subject of Bullying and Abuse is all very emotive and was handled brilliantly in both books and I felt I had to come and leave my comments.So why not five stars? Good question! Simply because I feel that as a new author Bully was good, this one is great, but the difference between the two leaves me feeling that I'll be needing those five stars for Madoc's and Jax's stories and I cannot wait :-)PS Those of you that also know me will know that my pet hate is a poorly edited book full of typos, grammar fails, or words and phrases unique to a particular country. Yes it has a few but after the last few I've read this was a blessed relief and for once the proof reader should be highly rewarded rather than shot at dawn ;-) (and no, I didn't proof read this one but wish I'd had the chance!)

Loved it! 5 Big Sparklin' Stars.I first read Bully when I downloaded it for free and forgot it was on my kindle pile. Months afterwards I finally got round to reading it and wondered why I hadn't read it sooner. It was brilliant!! So when I found out Jared was having his own book I was thrilled. I was so happy this wasn't Jared's POV of the exact same story as Bully. It was so much more. It was like reading a brand new story. I don't like to reread the same book with different POV's because I find them tiresome. I read this book in one sitting just like I had read Bully. I loved all the characters and can't wait to read more about Madoc and eventually Jax. These books are hot, sweet, funny and heart breaking. And although Jared's a Bully, you can't help but fall in love with him. Highly recommended read. If you haven't read Bully, go and pick it up right now. And while you're at it buy Until You too. Because I guarantee you will want to read this straight afterwards.
