Great Condition!
This book was required for a class and it came in great timing. Only took about a week and half! Was supposed to be here January 28th and it came January 15 and the book was in better condition than described!

Product did not match photo
I know this may seem silly but I bought this particular version of the book (black and red hardcover) because of the way the cover looked. I intended to use this book and craft it into a gift for my boyfriend but the version I received does not even have the title on the front cover and in all honesty it's ugly. Even the folded paper cover that goes around the book is ugly and looks like a cheap photoshop job. I understand that there are plenty of versions of this book but I just wish the description had at least stated that the product may not match the photo. I was also under the impression that I was receiving an old used copy (which I prefer) but instead it looks like a cheap reprint.

Strange copy
Odd copy of the book. The contents themselves are a classic, of course. This copy is an odd size, and there are many typos and misspellings. The back of the book is a very pixelated photo of Hemingway. The Amazon listing for this book says it is published by Important Books, but in the first few pages Stellar Books is listed as the publisher. I suspect it is a fraudulent printing, but ignoring the errors I enjoyed the content all the same.

Very Good writing, Hidden Plot
I have read this book twice, in high school and many years later as an adult. The writing style is very good, but the story is strange. Basically a bunch of mean drunks snapping at each other and acting stupid. I suppose when this was written, his style and the subject matter of drunks in Paris was something new, but to me, this book had a very slow start. (I read the Scribner version from 1970.) I found the first half of the book kind of boring, by very well written. The second half was much more interesting and it changed my opinion of the book - I liked it. For 1926, this book was very innovative, I think that is the attraction. That and the writing style is superb, especially compared to other American Literature of the 1920s which was rather bland.

Typical Hemingway
Been reading Poppa's work for most of my live. Haven't yet found one I didn't love. No exception here. Not as great as A Farewell To Arms, but well worth your time.

DO NOT BUY THIS EDITION
Not about the book itself which is marvellous, but rather the edition. Do not be fooled by the pretty cover, this is a cheap, shoddy rip off. They have obviously got a licence to print this book and have spent as little money doing so as they can. It is not a book, it is 24 cm x 18 cm (it says this in the product description, so it is my own fault for not reading this, though to be fair, I don't know I should have to with a book). It is flimsy, there are no page numbers and it is littered with numerous quite dramatic printing errors. I could not get beyond about page... well, I'm not sure, but not many, and I had to buy a different, but considerably better, edition.

A fine edition of a fine novel.
Hemingway's first (and best) novel, now available as a beautiful Penguin Classics Deluxe edition!

Great novel, nasty format
A great novel, but this is a dislikeable edition that seems to have been duplicated by an office printer from an e-book. For a more traditional copy see the Arrow paperback.

Rubbish edition
As others have said, this has all the appearance of a draft – no page numbers, numerous typos and an unattractive format. Not to be recommended
