AeroProTools 7116A 22 Gauge Air Stapler, 3/8 Inch Crown 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch Upholstery Stapler

Bought this to reupholster our dining room chairs. Four down, two more to go, and this stapler has been working great! I haven’t had a single jam. It’s lightweight and drives the staples smooth as silk. I was a little nervous because I hadn’t heard of the brand. But performance has been great and the price can’t be beat. One thing to be aware of: it uses 22 gauge staples with a 3/8” crown. They work fine with the heavy upholstery we are using, but if you had something lightweight they might tear through. Also, when removing these staples (because we all have oopsies) they are easy to break. Note that we’re using the Meite brand staples.

This works nice and smoothly but I have to adjust the air way down(at the compressor) for most materials as this staple size is pretty thin and there is not a pressure adjustment on the gun. It will shoot the whole staple right through thinner vinyls and into a wood backer. I have developed a "soft touch" rather than pushing on the material. While pushing is usually a positive/desirable technique that helps hold material in place while stapling, with this gun it can easily cause over penetration. Sometimes I'm almost hovering and barely touching the material to get the right penetration if I want retain enough power to fully penetrate folds and thicker piped edges. Perhaps a regulator at the gun would help but I dislike the bulk. A thin, vinyl air line with a swivel coupler makes tools like this a dream but not sure with the regulator.Good gun, just not real forgiving if you are varying material thicknesses or substrates. Each must be dialed in by experimenting or experience. Very affordable.

Worked great used it for my boat trailer bunk carpet. Got staples in very fast.
