Finally... a good cheap bluetooth 5.3 (actually 5.4!!) option. 20ms audio latency unlocked
I bought this and it was labeled/marketed as BT 5.0 / 5.3- I was SO VERY HAPPY to see upon install and review that the architecture is actually BLUETOOTH 5.4 - Yes, Five-point-four!What does this mean versus the 5.3 and previous??20 MS AUDIO LATENCY!!!!!!!!! (versus the 40ms on 5.3, etc)Absolute day-and-night difference, game-changer at the core. One of the absolute best upgrades you can do for your PC / Laptop / etc and it only costs 10 dollars usually!Hats off to TP-Link for bringing around yet another quality-designed and reliable product. The speed for file transfers blows everything pre-5.0 out of the water. The audio quality (especially latency) is so much better. This is mostly noticeable while gaming, or watching a fast-paced movie- no more half-second delays between what's on the screen and what's coming out of the speaker.Previously I had used an "off-brand" USB Nano BT 5.0 "dongle" (seriously, why do we even call it that? such a weird word.) and the main issue I had then was number 1) Distance between adapter and devices (very very low tolerance), 2) Unable to keep more than two devices connected at a consistent rate (i.e bluetooth speaker and xbox controller)3) Build quality - when unplugging the older device, it felt like it was going to fall apart.ALL THESE ISSUES ARE NOW GONE FOR ME SINCE I UPGRADED AND I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH

Handy Dongle!
My computer became too outdated to find a Bluetooth driver online and I became devasted because I couldn't use my Bluetooth earbuds with my computer for the longest time. I then realized my computer said that I would need to use an "external adapter" for my Bluetooth to work again. I knew Amazon would have SOMETHING, so I searched it up and stumbled across this product. It was as easy to install as plugging in and playing. Once it was plugged in, I got to connect my earbuds to my computer again! How awesome is that?! I really like how small and discreet it is, too. I recommend this, first thing, to anyone that needs a product like this! I'm so glad I bought this!

Great for when you have a faulty Internal Bluetooth Adapter
Works as intended. My Bluetooth on my ASUS gaming laptop is not reliable it goes out very often. I have a faulty Bluetooth Card and Driver that does not work most of the time, and this product was a quick an easy fix for that. The drivers were easy to install and work perfectly. The adapter is very small and fits snugly into the USB port. The connectivity is stable and I have had no connection issues. Works well within the span of my medium sized room. Get this instead of spending the time and effort of fixing faulty ASUS drivers.

The TP-Links UB500 Is A Great Little Device But....
The TP-Link model UB500 is a compact nano USB adapter, available in two versions: the older US/2.6, which supports Bluetooth 5.3, and the newer US/3.6, which supports Bluetooth 5.4. Both versions are packaged identically, with only a minor difference in the barcode label. Since they are priced the same, I feel cheated and misled to receive the older version. If I hadn’t checked the driver options, I wouldn’t have known. TP-Link informed me that they don't sell directly, so I must rely on Amazon resellers to verify the version before making a purchase. What are the chances of that actually happening versus selling through their older inventory? For that reason, I have to remove a 'star' from my review/rating.

Works perfectly in Ubuntu Linux. Good range and autoconnects fine
Product doesn’t claim to work with Linux but I had no issues on Ubuntu Linux (latest version). Plug dongle into USB port, automatically recognized. Easy to pair wireless keyboard. When I power off/power on the bluetooth wireless keyboard it automatically reconnects. And range is great. I have the dongle plugged into the rear USB port of the PC, and the keyboard is about 5 feet away to the left of the computer.. there are no issues with connectivity.I tried other bluetooth dongles that were cheaper, but they didn’t have good range and didn’t always autoconnect. Compared to those, this is a good USB bluetooth dongle.Highly recommended. Thanks tp-link!

Plug & play - yes, even on Linux
I ditched Microsoft and switched to Linux several months ago... and it's great to know that this Bluetooth adapter works out of the box with ZERO setup. I plugged it into a powered USB hub, turned on the computer running Kubuntu 25.04, and paired my headset. Works perfectly! This is a fantastic option for those of us who don't have a computer with a built-in Bluetooth adapter and don't want to tinker around inside the case, installing one. Highly Recommended!
