SoffeMen's Classic Cotton Pocket Short

I have had/used Soffe cotton shorts for over 30 years, so when it came time to replace a pair of (other-branded) shorts, I gravitated to Soffe. These shorts are a bit longer than I expected (I assumed they were the same length as what I had previously; I could have measured first), and the elastic waist is a bit tighter/stronger than my previous Soffe shorts (could be my waist has grown, but I think it's more than that); however, they fit and wear well.

I love these shorts! I use them for sleeping but I'm pretty much in them whenever I'm at home, would be good for working out too. I was always a Hanes guy, even owned Fruit of the Loom and BVD's in the past but these are by far the best and after owning these I dont think I could go back to other brands of this type of shorts. These days other like shorts are made a little thin or they get holes in them after awhile. These are really nice and soft made fairly thick and very comfortable with convenient pockets, best shorts I've ever had. I had purchased two pairs roughly about five years ago and only in the last year have I started to get holes (probably from ware in the wash over time). They are quality made and worth the money. So when my current shorts finally started to ware out I made sure to replace them with the exact same thing from the same seller. Now I will say this, I would recomend considering buying a size bigger as they seem like they do shrink a little in the wash after a few times though it might actually be from the dryer. I'm about 6ft 180lbs pretty lean and I'm wearing the 2XL which is the biggest and it fits great, comes to just above the knees and still feels nice and stretchy so it would comfortably fit a bigger person too. They also come in a few different colors for those who care but I really like the black. Five stars, HIGHLY recomended.

Great for lounging and being comfortable. Since they’re cotton I wouldn’t use them for working out. Mid-tier thickness and weight. Length is pretty long. No real complaints.

These a nice basic black shorts. Elastic waist band, decent length, comfortable.

Great fit, nice thick cotton. Switched over from Champion, I like these better. Highly recommend!

Brands change over the years, this review is May/2017 I am surveying comfortable shorts to hang around the house, sleep and good for trips to mailbox or exercise, walks around neighborhood. I am a 35" waist. I am sensitive to material softness.These Soffe gym shorts (medium) ran long - 1/2 way down the knee (which bugged me so I boiled then dried them and they shrunk to just above the knee) material most coarse of those surveyed (woulda sent em back if I had not boiled em :-) drawstring internal, no fly, thickest material and weave but not soft, shallowest pockets - only about 3.5" of a iPhone 6+ or Nexus 6P fit from bottom of the pocket to the lower edge of the pocket hole (could have been my shrinking debacle, did not measure prior).The medium Hanes gym shorts just arrived, fit well (before washing), drawstring internal, cloth covered elastic, no fly, pretty soft, about 5" of a iPhone 6+ or Nexus 6P fit from bottom of the pocket to the lower edge of the pocket hole, my cell won't fall out. Got them as an Amazon add on for $3.03 and went to buy more only to find the price had tripled. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0151E6OUY/The medium Hanes Sleep shorts fit well and are the most comfortable so far of the series I'm buying, although my old pair with the cloth cover on the inside (instead of elastic inside) feel slightly softer at the band. External draw string, button fly. For me these pockets are a bit shallow, about 4" of a iPhone 6+ or Nexus 6P fit from bottom of the pocket to the lower edge of the pocket hole. I bought these as a gift and my son loves them. Great value. They wash well. I would order again.

I ordered these shorts specifically because they are listed as 100% cotton. I have an allergy to polyester. As I was unpacking them getting ready to wash them something told me to check the tag on the gray pair of shorts. The gray pair were 50% cotton, 50% polyester despite it saying 100 cotton on the description. So if you have a fabric allergy please make sure to be careful.The material is soft. They wash well. They are comfortable, look great too. I washed mine and dried on low and there was no shrinking. I will be buying more in different colors.

i was surprised at how good the quality is. For tis price, they're excellent value. I wear them while doing around the house chores and they're super comfortable. The fit was as expected. I'll be buying more.

Thick cotton shorts with pockets. Good quality.
