Saved my sanity
Seriously, I was losing my mind there for a second. But I’m sharing this incase anyone else is going through what I went through and are indecisive on getting this. I know I was. I’ve had this cat for 8 years. But a little over a year ago she started getting into this really bad habit of putting her paw under our bedroom door and shaking in the middle of the night asking for food. She has always been crazy about food but this was ridiculous. My solution was to spray her with water every time she did it but it didn’t stop her. We then moved to a different house and she stopped for a month or so. Then my wife gave birth to our daughter and shortly after she started doing it again except this time it put us on high alert because we were afraid it would wake the baby up. We tried everything. Water bottle didn’t work. There were nights she would wake us at 3 am, I would go out and spray her, then she would shake the door again at 4 am and again I would go out to spray her. This would continue on every hour until I woke up. Some nights I would leave some food for her to have at night but still she shook the door. Some nights I would give her food after she shook the door so she would leave us alone and she still would return to shake the doors hours later. I even got a self feeder so it would fill up on its own as she ate and she would still come shake the door asking for food. I would have to pick her up and take her to her bowl and she would start eating. Maybe it was because I had to move the bowl somewhere where our dogs wouldn’t get it she might have been confused but after doing this 3 weeks and she still couldn’t get the hint, it was driving me crazy. We even tried cat repellent and nothing. I ended up getting this mat and still I held off for about 2 weeks because I was worried I would shock her too much. And every night I just hoped she would stop but she never did. Finally I got the courage to do it and stick to it. That whole night I felt so bad, as if I was going to do something abusive to our cat but I had to see it through. And guess what? It worked! It takes about 2 to 3 second after something steps on it for the mat to go off. And the first night she was so stubborn that she did it 3 times until she finally gave up. It wasn’t until the 4th night that she had given up completely and now I sleep in peace! And I no longer fear the cat waking up our baby. I mean the cat woke us up more than our newborn did. It was ridiculous! I’m so glad I got this and if you’re hesitant on trying this then this is your sign to try it. Try it and you’ll be glad you did.

Works Great!
Our 60 pound pit mix can be pretty stubborn. We don't want dogs going up our wood stairs to upstairs bedrooms as we have guests allergic to dogs. We tried blocking the stairs with boxes, chairs, and even installed a baby gate, screwed directly into the wall and bannister, but she tore it down (making a huge mess in the process). I placed this mat at the bottom of the stairs and chose the audio signal, not the shock. It's been in place for several months now and works great! Wish I'd have found this years ago. Not sure it would work for a cat, as they could easily jump over it, but if you wanted to keep a pet off furniture, I'd say it should work just fine. The battery doesn't last super long, maybe a month or so, but I leave it on 24/7. Cheap price to pay though to keep her from going upstairs.

Avoid
If my product is not defective, then the seller truly does not care about the quality of their product. Only about half of the mat works right out of the box. Followed all instructions, trimmed cat nails, prepped paws, using high quality brand new lithium 9V batteries. Now 3 days into owning the mat, it does not work. The battery is fully charged and displaying that it's fully charged on the device. Still no shock, no beep the majority of the time. This mat is cheaply designed/ built, and for what you get, it is still over priced. Amazon is not what it used to be, it's becoming more and more like Wish.com everyday. Products should be screened and vetted to some degree atleast.

Works well but it goes through batteries fast
We really like these and they truly keep the dogs off of the furniture but the batteries don’t last very long.

Works Well & Exceeds Expectations - Good Battery Life
Works better than I had expected. When the word "Static" is used, I had the idea that it uses a charge like "static electricity," like when you walk across a carpet and get a static electricity shock when you touch something. The shock from this device is much stronger than that. A pet will not soon forget the shock from this device. It's more like the shock you get when you touch an electric fence on a farm that's used to keep the livestock away from the fence. The battery life is better than I thought it would be, they are the same type as used in smoke alarms, and last for a long time, maybe weeks at least it would seem, and there are re-chargeable batteries available, which the seller recommends, that I have found to be very good, charge fast and long lasting.I have neighbor cats that come onto my patio late at night because they sense the smell of birds that use my bird baths and feeder during the day. And as we know, cats like to mark their territory with urine, which I do not care for. I don't mind if they just want to hang out and harmlessly lounge about, but they come around late at night and are an annoyance, in addition to urinating, they trip my security camera in the wee hours, and I get woken up by an alert.I had been spraying the path to the patio with Vinegar or Ammonia to keep the cats away, but it takes time and the smell is annoying to not only the cats. I'm sure this device will be much more effective in training the cats to stay away. I only use it at night since I don't want the birds to get shocked. It's rated as an indoor item, but works well outdoors if only at night, as long as it's not raining.Overall, it seems to work well, my security camera caught a cat walking onto it, and I was pleased to see that it didn't harm the cat, which seemed to be intrigued with the mat, but not intrigued enough to come back for more after it encountered the electric charge being applied to its feet.

Really not impressed with this one.
it works. It makes an audible sound, then it shocks, but the shock is so light you can barely feel it the cat still climb on the back of my couch. They are still eating my blinds. The batteries don’t last more than 30 days when left on continuously and if you don’t leave it on continuously, it don’t work.

Excellent pet deterrent
My dog kept getting on my new couch and eat the pillows chew the arms , we literally had to pile items on couch when not in use to keep her off and that didn’t always work.since I put the mattress on my couch dog sniffed it ,it beeped and he hasn’t even gotten near the couch since then I tried everything and this is the best thing ever to keep your pets off of your furniture, highly recommended,I love it!!!

No siempre funciona

Does what it promises!
It's simple to use and does what you expect it to. Used it for cat training as one of my cats was peeing where he shouldn't. He stepped on that and hasn't gone back once.

Scat mat
Works very well. We need to keep two cats separated as one has FIV. This mat worked first time...even for the most persistent Siamese cat. He's been shocked twice, I guess he had to check a second time to see if he could get past ... he's never tried again. He sits about a foot away and just looks around. Perfect for us.

Don't waste your money
I have several cats and I bought this to keep them from jumping up where I have plants and it doesn't work. The cats are not heavy enough. They jump right up on it and sit on it.I thought maybe it was the battery so I bought brand new batteries and it's the same.Cats are jumping right up on it with no reaction what so ever. For the price of it I expected this to work but I should have just kept my money. So dissapointing
