SE is affordable awesomeness, this mic continues that legacy of full features and a great price. Mic has both low cut and pad switches, the included mic clip has a euro thread adapter as well if needed. Would definitely recommend.

I mostly used this to record tenor sax. I had ribbon mic from SE that was more expensive, but this actually worked better for me because it wasn't as picky about distance from the sax. That said, I eventually upgraded to an EV RE20. Then why 5 stars? Because it is better than anything I tried at this price point. The EV RE20 is even easier to get the distance right for the sax and the sound quality of the RE20 is a bit better, but you have to decide if "a bit better" worth spending 4x the price.

Close to sounding like the AT 2020, but not quite as crisp and defined. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is that it sounds identical to the MXL 440 FET, which cost 45% less than the cost of this microphone. When you’re intermediate microphone cost nearly twice as much as your competitors, beginner microphone, and sounds exactly the same, that should tell you something about how much you’re charging and how much it is actually worth. The one thing that it does have over the MXL 440, is the low noise cut switch. But is that really worth a 45% markup? Because you could easily compensate for the lack of the noise cut with low end EQ. I mean, it’s convenient, but not $50 convenient.

sE has done it again...this time with an excellent condenser mic with an almost flat frequency response (which means, it faithfully produces the sound of the source). It comes with a mic clip, but no shock mount...but at this price, I have no absolutely no complaints (check out the On-Stage MY430 Shock Mount -- it fits this mic like a glove). I have owned and used (and sold) several higher end mics, but THIS one is a keeper. I wanted a great mic with a flat frequency response...and this is it! Highly recommended for those looking for such a mic! It's perfect for v-o and podcasting.

Excellent vocals, loud amp, acoustic instruments!

Very crisp and clear. For vocals and acoustic it is as good as any pro studio mic I have heard. Rewlly quality sound. For drum overheads and electric guitar it is not AS amazing but still very solid, like an A- instead of an A+, IMO. I am an experienced audio engineer in professional and home environments, so this isn't the opinion of someone who only uses Shures and is impressed easily. For the price it's just a really really solid condensor.

Ich verstehe die Gegner dieses Mikrofons nicht. Jeder der sich den Klang anhört merkt, das die höhen bei gutem Umgang und richtiger mikrofonposition gut klingen. Das rode nt1a hingegen hat zu scharfe höhen und ist mehr "harsh". Außerdem ist der Bassbereich aus meiner sicht etwas zu stark betont. Mit dem se x1a bekomme ich durch den High pass filter vernünftige Mitten mit denen gearbeitet werden kann, auch wenn es bei schlechter performance etwas ein bisschen zu "harsh" klingen kann. Super Mikrofon, nicht überall verwendbar.. trotzdem ist eine gute performance möglich. Deshalb habe ich dieses (discontinued) mikrofon trotz der schlechten youtube kritik von podcaststage kaufen müssen. Meistens finde ich seine kritik gut.. in diesem fall aber nicht. Meiner Meinung nach besser als das rode nt1a. Nach längerer Nutzung hat sich meine Überzeugung bestätigt. Dieses Mikrofon ist für den Preis einzigartig und nimmt es mit weitaus teureren Mikrofonen auf.

I’ve been using the sE Electronics X1A for a while now, and honestly, it’s an amazing microphone for recording especially at this price range. The sound quality is very clean and detailed. It captures vocals really well, with a nice balance of clarity and warmth. Even in a non-treated room, it performs surprisingly good if you position it properly. The low-cut filter and pad options are super useful, especially when recording louder sources. if you’re a beginner or even an intermediate music producer looking for a reliable and professional-sounding mic, the X1A is definitely worth it. Qualità prezzo imbattibile, paragonato con microfoni più costosi o blasonati non sfigura per niente. Ottima resa, facilmente equlizzabile e rumore di fondo molto basso.
