How they make this for the money is beyond me. Feels decent quality, tested it against a Fluke clamp meter and found it just as accurate, and it comes with leads and a case! At this price every electrician can't afford not to have one in their toolbox

Monitoring DC current

Out of the box, brand new, this Chinese made device gave me 25v AC readings on tails which were not even connected to a supply, but ran for five or six meters inside insulators which also held a lighting live. When I reverted to measuring the same two tails with my old faithful meter there was an induced voltage of circa one thousand times less. These cheap auto-ranging devices don't work properly. In fact, avoid auto-ranging multi-meters full stop unless you are spending obscene sums. AC amperage readings were also well off. It tells me my 16 amp immersion heater is drawing 38 amps (the breaker is only 20a rated). This could cause someone to believe a circuit is safe to touch when it is in fact deadly.

Work well on amps available and dc amps I use it mainly on testing battery charging on dc

I tested this item against a known calibrated meter. On AC and DC current measurements it was ludicrously inaccurate, to the point of being useless, as much as 1000%. On voltage it was as much as 300% inaccurate in all ranges. I gave up testing at that point.
