Almost Perfect
I bought this last year but waited until now to review, as I was very happy with my previous mattress pad until I took it out for the second winter, and the heating elements no longer worked. I have had no such issues with this! The mattress pad was carefully folded and put in storage, and when taken out, worked perfectly.Things that set this mattress pad apart from others:Both the wires and padding around it are thicker. I have sensory issues that can make it hard for me to fall asleep, and I was never kept awake by the feeling of the wires.Heats quickly - I feel the warmth almost immediately after turning it on.A single controller - as a single person in a queen bed, I appreciated the ability for me to purchase a single controller, so I did not have to twiddle with two different ones to heat my whole bed.Durability - good instructions, product lasted longer than the more common brand.A couple of things that would make this perfect:Controller still wired to face a particular direction, which is coincidentally the opposite direction that works for my bed configuration.I really like that the top foot or so of the bed does not have heating elements, but I wish it were zoned from top to bottom. I never need heat from the waist up, but my legs and feet are practically blocks of ice. If I fall asleep while the mattress pad is on, I will wake up in the middle of the night sweaty and uncomfortable. This could also be ameliorated by a timer function. I'd love to be able to set it to heat for an hour, and then switch off (or switch to a lower setting). All in all, this is a great product, and well worth the money. I have recommended it to multiple people. If you are on the fence about the higher cost, know that there's a good chance you will be replacing that "cheaper" model after a year anyway.

Finally my bed is warm!
The Electrowarmth Mattress Pad is superior to any of the electric blankets I've used in the last 30 years. When you use a heated blanket, more than half the heat escapes up, away from you, so you get little only a little heat from a blanket. But a mattress pad is under you so heat doesn't escape... it goes up to warm you. I think even the heat that goes down eventually is conducted back up to you, so you're warmer. I find that I use this in a low setting, L or 1, and it keeps me warm all night. When you first turn it on it fires up extra warm for a few minutes, so you don't have to do any adjusting to preheat your bed; it's a nice plus. The only downside, as others have pointed out, is the controller light goes off rather quickly and in the dark you can't tell by looking if it's on or not. It's true that all you have to do is push a button; if the light comes on, it's on, and if it doesn't come on it's off. Of course, that still doesn't indicate what the status was before you pushed the button (well, presumably, if you turned it on, it was off, and vice versa, but you might have pushed one of the up or down buttons and not the power button, so you can't be sure). I understand that, but it IS confusing and I really would rather not have to think about it that much when I'm trying to sleep. The company says it's to save power, but they could light it with an led and use very little power. They should change this feature.Electrowarmth is available in more sizes than other manufacturers; that was important. Be sure to check actual measurements on your mattress and don't just go by size names. I found Twin XL from one company was really just the shorter twin length, and from Electrowarmth Twin XL is longer than my Twin XL mattress. But by checking the size in inches, I got a pad that was exactly right. I also liked that the electrical connection is just off the end of the pad, while another manufacturer had it on top of the pad, in the middle, right where my feet would be.I also I like that it is made in the USA.The sides could be a bit deeper to accommodate today's thick mattresses, but I was able to get the elastic edges to just barely fit. You can have one made with deeper sides by calling the factory and paying a bit extra, but they really should make this standard. My mattress is new but not overly thick, and it barely fits.In summary, I'm giving this 5 stars because it does the job better than anything I've bought in the past, and it's the right size. I've been using it for about two months so I can't attest to how long it works. If I could I'd give it four and one-half stars because of the controller light, but I don't want to go as low as four. I think you'll be pleased with this purchase.

Dog tested, dog approved.
I need a mattress heater for a new bed in the house and went back to look up past purchases.I'm shocked! I've had the one I use on my bed since 2015!I'd call that a pretty good product! (although it doesn't beat my GE LED Dual Alarm clock from the 1980's that's been on a table next to my bed forEVER...lol)Despite Fire Marshall Bill's best advice, I have this on the bed, under the sheets.I throw the sheet and comforter out over the bed and turn this on about 3-4 hours before I go to bed. (setting 7)Once I'm off to bed, I get in and am instantly relaxed, not tense getting into a cold bed with cold sheets.I crawl in and turn the thing off, and I'm out like a light most always...As one poster noted, the heating coils do not go all the way to the top of the bed. I'm sure this is safety driven so as not to overheat where the pillow would sit. But it would be nice if they did to ease some of the pain in my upper back. But, it's a minor gripe. I just slide down a litle on it to get them warmed up if need be.However I do have one issue. I usually have to push the dog over... late at night this 16yr old palm poodle crawls in and hogs the bed, leaving just her head or nose sticking out of that snug little cave...The price is indeed stunning. I'm sure I didn't pay $125 for this the first time around. And frankly I just had to buy the 2nd one on Ebay $20 cheaper...But honestly I think this is about as good a bed warmer as I'll ever find even if the price is a little high.
